Well things have been going fantastic. I am just feeling awesome lately, and that makes me very happy. I am down 11.4 lbs since Jan. 5. down 2 inches on my waist and can just about fit into a pair of pants that are 2 sizes smaller then what I started off wearing, however, they are tight on the thighs and I prefer to be comfy. My body is changing in so many ways, and I love it. As of today it is 9 months since I had to have my esophagus reopened. The strictures have stopped and the damage is slowly healing itself, which was the big goals. Heart burn is at a huge minimum, not even once a week. It's pretty much gone. I am winning!!! I am so glad I can start feeling healthier. That I have finally made the choices and have stuck with them.
I couldn't be happier! I am continually impressed with how much stronger I am getting, and how my endurance has improved. Each workout I seem to be able to push myself a bit farther, or have improved the movement or the weight I can do. I guess it's true, you can do anything you put your mind to.
Sunday, was my first workout since Thursday because I was sick. I felt good though. I did 10 miles on the bike in 25 minutes. Not my best time but I did it and I was glad to push through.
Monday was Crossfit and I don't remember what the warmup was lol is that bad? haha Sorry they change what the warm up numbers mean every month (there is warms up's 1-4 and I don't know what they are this month off the top of my head) But the general workout was:
Strength:
Box Squat 5×6 (heavier than last week I got a PR of 93 lbs)
MetCon:
AMRAP 10 minutes:
10 DB Strict Press (25 lb each hand)
10 KB Swings (33 lbs- and to think when I started in Jan. I could only do 8 lbs)
10 Chest to bars
Completed 4 full rounds plus 2 DB strict presses
Midline:
4×1 minute Barbell OH Hold (OMG this was torture. You might think holding a barbell - 33 lbs.- above your head isn't too hard but for a minute. Oh man, by round 4 at 20 seconds my eyes were watering lol)
Tuesday, I had a business trip and didn't get home until late so I missed the gym. But I plan to make up for it tonight since I am feeling pretty good.
Today's workout:
8 rounds Tabata Jump Rope (20 seconds jump 10 seconds rest)
Strength:
Split Jerk 5×3 1 set every 2 minutes (PR 73 lbs up from last weeks 68)
MetCon:
15 minute AMRAP:
Ascending Ladder 1-2-3-4-5-6-7…
Thrusters (43 lbs)
5 Chest to bar pull ups between each round of thrusters
Completed 10 + 5
Midline:
3×30 abmat sit ups
By the end of today's workout, there was a nice sweat mark body print of me on the floor. I wish I hadn't forgotten my phone this morning that would have been an awesome picture to do a caption contest with. LoL.
I've also thrown myself in for a few challenges. The Crossfit Open is about to begin, and guess who signed up for it. Yep me! I was nervous, hesitant and not sure if i was ready but you don't know if you are until you try. So I rather try and fail than not give it a go at all. So let's see how it goes!
I have the Color Run 5k coming up in May and have several friends and some of my husband's coworkers doing it to. Which should make it a lot of fun.
I am going to be doing the Dirty Girl Mud Run 5k in September. What is it? Well the website says:
"What a delightfully dirty day.
Run, walk, climb, crawl—you will experience it all in this adventure race. With adventure obstacle course names like H2OMG and PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff), you can expect to laugh until your cheeks hurt. But don't worry, if you get to an obstacle that's more than a challenge for you—hey, take one of the adventure races detours. Also expect safety throughout. Expect the fun obstacle course runs competition to go on rain or shine. Expect not to be timed on the adventure runs. Expect some crazy team uniforms. Expect to put your mud run training to the test. Expect to leave with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment."
So my understanding is it a shorter version of the Tough Mudder which I would like to work up to eventually. I figure this is a good place to start.
I have put a lot of challenges ahead of myself. I figure they will add to the fun I am having.
Well that is all for now. I will end this with a little quote I found the other day that is very true.
(I like this picture because a lot of people on my facebook have been giving me a hard time that i post too much about my workouts and such. The post aren't for them they are for me and this was my reminder. )
USM, I am saving my life one day at a time. :) And I'm proud to keep up the good fight and thank you for reading.
