Well I have discovered I need to stop being so hard on myself. I like to push myself, push myself to the limit and sometimes it isn't a good idea and I need to stop. I will explain this more as I go about what these last few days consisted of.
Saturday morning I went to the gym, I did 10 miles on the bike in 24 minutes 32 seconds, a little slower than last time but i was happy with it either way. Can't be the same every time.
Sunday, I took the day off from working out. Relaxed for the day, ran some errands, did some house wor in the morning. Afternoon was spent processing computer stuff.
Monday was a Crossfit day. And this was my rough day. The day I tried to keep pushing myself and pushing myself until I was told to stop. I just couldn't get the form correct for one of the lifts and I kept trying and trying. In the end, I was mad, frustrated, and I came home and cried. But I got over it!
Warm up: "Cindy" 5 kep swings, 10 pushups, 15 air squats (for 3 rounds)
Strength:
Box Squat 4 x 8 at 93 lbs
“DT” Complex – Not for time
5 Rounds (you can not drop the bar during the round, rest as needed between rounds)
12 Dead lifts
9 Hang Clean (I have a really hard time with hang cleans. It's very frustrating)
6 Push Press
Let's see for me this was 2 rounds at 53 lbs... add 5 lbs to make it 58 lbs... 2 failed attempts (did 12 DL in one set, did 12 DL and 5 hang clean in the other)... dropped back down to 53 lbs for another set... next set finally did the 58 lbs for the full set... final set fail at 58 lbs got 12 DL and 6 hang cleans but couldn't keep my elbows back the way they needed to be to do the lift properly.
It was hard for me not finishing. But as a few friends said to me, "its not always about completion, more about building that muscle strength and memory." I just have to keep that in mind. Realistically, when I think about it.... 2 weeks ago I properly couldn't do this...and 2 months ago Ha Ha Ha forget it I couldn't even imagine myself doing any of it.
Lesson learned don't let a bad day get the best of me.
Yesterday, I did some light lifting at home with my 10 lb hand weights trying to practice different techniques and motions. I guess you could call it a practice day.
Today, was another Crossfit day and I was very happy with myself.
warm up 100 jumps, 20 KB swings at 18 lbs, 10 broad jumps, 1 inch worm, hanging shoulder stretch.
split jerks 5x5 at 68 lbs.
MetCon: 10 chin to bars (couldnt do chest to bar :) but i tried)
10 stationary dips
Total round in 5 mins: 3 rounds plus 10 chin to bars
20 (with each arm) dumbbell ground to overhead with 25 lbs completed in 2 mins 41 seconds
Max Effort burpees in 5 minutes, completed 48 (goal was 50 almost made it)
Overall, so far I would say this was my most challenging week. Mainly because for some reason I have been doubting myself a lot this week for some reason and I really need to get over it.
I need to stay focus and remember that I won't be able to do everything on the first attempt. Or as my uncle reminded me, "Rome wasn't built in a day."
Well that's all for now. Have a good day thanks for reading!
