Date: 1/27/2013 3:00:00 PM From Authorid: 30747 I would be too scared to get caught and then I would wonder what would the person that lossed it would feel like and last I would hope there would be a reward in it for me for turning it in. |
Date: 1/27/2013 3:07:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64765 Very well said souldrifter, I would have done the same thing. Good deeds are always rewarded |
Date: 1/27/2013 3:10:00 PM From Authorid: 64365 Surely I would be tempted and would even try, maybe, to talk myself into keeping it telling myself it was a blessing from God...but in all actuality I would feel guilty for doing it, so I would turn it over to the police, then publish a free ad in the paper stating it was found and can be claimed at the POlice Station. I would rather go hungry than deal with guilty feelings and any Karma I incurred on myself. |
Date: 1/27/2013 3:12:00 PM From Authorid: 64365 ...and, as SoulDrifter said, I would be worried that the person who lost it might have to do without, and that would be more than I could bear, to even feel like I might have caused someone else that kind of suffering. |
Date: 1/27/2013 3:18:00 PM From Authorid: 27705 I could never keep a bag of money. Imagine what the person who lost it could/would be going through. I would turn it in or find a way to identify who it belongs to and bring it to them myself. I lost my wallet once, someone mailed it to me (everything inside: license, cash, cards, ect) I sent them a thank you note with a gift card. |

I think we have all lost something .. and wondered why it was not returned to us. So if we find something belonging to someone else, why not attempt to find the owner. I found a diamond and sapphire ring in the parking lot of a department store. When I tried to turn it into their lost and found, they said that they would rather I hold onto something of that much value. I asked them, how could the rightful owner get it back that way .. and they just shrugged their shoulders. So I made a sign for them to hang over the lost and found items, directed at anyone who might have lost a ring .. 'Call me'. No one did, but I felt so good that I tried. I also went back for several weeks in a row to make sure the sign was still up. My conscience will not let me keep even a penny that isn't mine. My soul isn't worth it. |
Date: 1/27/2013 8:48:00 PM From Authorid: 21435 I like to think that I would turn it in. Of course, I would be dying to know the story about how a bag of money got lost in the first place. So, maybe I would wait abit and keep my eyes and ears open, hoping to get some satisfaction. (all the while, sitting on said "bag og money." What???) Write on, Splendid Cat.... |

I'd be tempted, of course I would. But I'd try to find the owner. One time at a dollar store, I got out of the car and looked down to see a large change purse. I picked it up and walked in the store, showed the purse to a cashier. About that time a young lady walked up and saw the purse, recognizing it as hers. Her eyes were huge when the cashier handed it to her, after she was able to identify it. She started crying, then told me the money in the purse was her rent money and food money for her and her daughter. The purse had fallen out of her car when she parked.. I didn't even look inside bur the gratitude she showed was the reward. I scored some karma points Good post, SC. Really gives you something to think about. |
Date: 1/28/2013 7:43:00 AM From Authorid: 53427 I'd turn it in. And I have. I found $100 on the floor of WalMart one day, it was while I was working there. Well, I took it to the lost and found. And sure enough, a cop comes up a few minutes later, asking if it was there. Now if that guy ever pulls me over, I might remind him of that long ago day lol |
Date: 1/28/2013 7:49:00 AM From Authorid: 53427 My parents once found a wallet in a grocery store parking lot with $600 inside. There was an address inside, they drove all the way to these people's house. And they just took the wallet, and didn't hardly mumble a thank you. They were very rich and I guess $600 wasn't very much to them. |
Date: 1/28/2013 8:39:00 AM From Authorid: 66331 Right now I would take the money, kind of need it but if I didn't need it I would turn it in, then there is the thought of getting caught. If it was something else and not a bag full of money, I would totally turn it in. Maybe I could take half and turn in half.....win both ways Very hard question lol - Haven |
Date: 1/28/2013 9:15:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64765 Very interesting replies everyone, thanks for reading. I would wonder why a lot of money would be in a bag. Good money or bad money, definately turn it in. On the other hand, if no one claims it then it's yours yay!! At least you know you did the the right thing by turning it in!! |
Date: 1/28/2013 10:12:00 AM From Authorid: 66589 l.lolololImean if you think about it...The persion that lost it might be dead or cought up in alota mess sooooooo and like if you return it someone else may take it-.-So inthen if I take some out then give it up they may say its some missing.............Hmm I'll just give it upGod well bless me with something better ikno lolol Truee^-^x3Keep up the good work splended cat |
Date: 1/28/2013 10:55:00 AM From Authorid: 10722 Hmmm, a bag full of cash? Most likely ditched by perps from a drug deal gone sour and eluding the police. Of course I'd keep it, but I'd use it for good. |
Date: 1/28/2013 2:04:00 PM From Authorid: 63962 Yep, I would. First of all, it's not mine, and secondly, if there's a lot of it all at once it's probably related to some type of criminal activity & the authorities need to have it and know about it. Even if it wasn't related to any criminal activity, chances are pretty darn high that it belongs to someone and they're frantically wondering where it is and trying to get it back. Do unto others as you'd have done unto you. |
Date: 1/28/2013 6:20:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 64765 Something is obviously not right. Why would anybody carry it to a supermarket in the first place. Not honest money for sure. But if you end up keeping it even after you tried returning it, does that still count as dishonesty? |

Such a hard question! I would return it if there was an address or phone number in the bag or wallet. Even if not I would give it to someone trusted to return. I know alot of people are very honest and trustworthy, but I don't like the idea of leaving things that aren't mine with, say, a cashier to try to locate the owner. There are too many people now that could and might pocket the cash and claim to never see it. (I do give everyone a chance, though. But I don't think I would leave it with a cashier or the like. Authorities, definitely, if there was a cause to report it.) But I would not keep it. The person who lost it probably needs it more than I ever would. Good question thouh! |

I think that it would depend on where I found it. If I was in a store or on the street, I'd turn it in. I've wallets and once a passport. I turned them all in at the police station. If I was walking on the beach and I see a bag floating in on the waves.... I'd think that it was a gift from above |
Date: 2/11/2013 7:00:00 PM From Authorid: 4144 been there done that! i would turn it in. i haven't found big wads of cash or anything but i have found a purse twice and a wallet once. all at walmart!! turned them in. if there were no id i would turn into the police. |
