Thank you both! I'm sure he will be fine. I just can't help but worry. I just found out that there have been 11 reported including 2 deaths. First report mentioned our 2 local hospitals being full. Scared me half to death. |

Hi, try and see if you got a lot of water puddles or things holding water out side. If so, dump and put salt in the puddles to kill the mosquitos. I recomend geting stronger bug repllent solution get one that has deet in it. wear long sleeves and pants sray the deet on them and your hats. Sorry your little one got bit. |

Thank you! We don't have ANY standing water on our property. We even drained the pool just to be safe. We can't use deet. Our boys are only 2 and 3. Their doctor told us not to use it on them. |

We have it in our county. They interviewed a woman who just got out of the hospital. From what they said in the report, it is people over the age of 50 that it kills. Everyone else, as long as they are healthy, will have milder symptoms like a virus and don't normally require hospitalization. |

I read about this on your fb post yesterday. I was shocked because I didn't think we had to worry about West Nile anymore, especially not to the point of declaring a state of emergency. I have not heard any warnings in my state or others, but this had prompted me to look into it. |

Lot of deaths and infections from Dallas east. They are saying now that Houston has been failing for a few years in identifying cases, it is hard to diagnose. |

We're in North East Texas. There are a lot more cases now than when I made this post. So far, he hasn't been sick and the bites are gone. |
