West Nile

The area I live in has been declared a state of emergency due to the number of people being treated for the virus (several deaths as well). I have become paranoid. We were out doing yard work and Payne got bit twice (we were using OFF Family Care). Now, I'm scared he is going to get sick. Anyone else live in an area with a high number of West Nile outbreaks?

Date: 8/26/2012 6:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    We have it in our county. They interviewed a woman who just got out of the hospital. From what they said in the report, it is people over the age of 50 that it kills. Everyone else, as long as they are healthy, will have milder symptoms like a virus and don't normally require hospitalization.
Date: 8/26/2012 9:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 30747    We have it in upstate ny. one elderly man and a young girl have died from it. We have this every year. It scares me a lot too. I see a mosquito and I freak out.

Date: 8/27/2012 5:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 28848    I read about this on your fb post yesterday. I was shocked because I didn't think we had to worry about West Nile anymore, especially not to the point of declaring a state of emergency. I have not heard any warnings in my state or others, but this had prompted me to look into it.
