Shot at My First Archery Tournament! -Alexis-

So 6 days ago, I shot at my first tournament in archery.

For my birthday, my mother got me my own bow. It's purple. I often do not show up to practice on Mondays, so I wasn't very good at all. But I shot a 235 out of 300 :) At 10 meters from the target I scored a 120, and at 15 meters from the target I scored a 115. I wear glasses and I'm always nervous that I will hit my glasses off my face :P My bow is set to my exact pull strength and yet I still get shakey when I shoot. But 235 out of 300... not bad for my first time... especially when I'm hardly at practice and I don't practice at home... Still could use lots of help shooting though, there's lots of room for improvement.

Eh, I'll just march my lazy butt to practice everyday from now on and ask the coaches for a little extra help :)

Date: 2/22/2012 6:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 26598    Do you have a hand suporter? If you have something to brace your wrist like a pro bowler, maybe improve your shot. Idea.
Date: 2/22/2012 6:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hi Alexis. I used to shoot a recurve when I was younger. That was so much fun. To practice, I would walk the riverbank and shoot at twigs and leaves. That was a fine score. Keep up the good work, lady. Write on.....
Date: 2/22/2012 7:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 13138    If you need help you should talk to a girl called Mariah on here. She posted a couple days ago about her daughter that is in archery too. Interestingly enough her daughter is named Alexis too. Her profile says she is from Kentucky like yours says too. What a coincidence. Maybe she has pointers for you.

Date: 2/22/2012 8:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 64985    Alexis, I thing you did tremendous for your first archery meet. Shooting an arrow is no easy feat, I've tried it when I was a youth, and I hurt myself several different ways, ha ha! Keep up the great attitude you have about the sport, who knows you could wind up being a world champion some day. Never let anyone steal your dreams or tell you that you can"t...Corolator
