I was hoping there would be a Health section or something related to it for me to post this, but I believe this is the closest thing. I've been dealing with PCOS and infertility for 3 years now, after 3 PCS moves and 4 different doctors Ive finally been sent to a Reproductive Endocrinologist for help. I was wondering if there are any females or even males who have had to deal with PCOS or infertility issues. What information/advice would you have to give? success stories? your experiences? ty!

Date: 2/21/2012 4:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 36901    I have PSOS and was told I would never have children. I tried for a few years, but finally gave up. I came to terms with the fact I would never be called "mommy".

Joey was born 4 days shy of my 35th birthday. Payne came along when I was 36. They are my miracles.

I didn't take fertility drugs or seek any medical help.

I would say not to give up, but I didn't get pregnant until I did. Lol

I'd say just have fun practicing, Joe was told he couldn't have kids, and we're expecting Joey in just a couple months.

Date: 2/21/2012 7:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    I have PCOS and if they offer you Metformin TAKE IT! It helps a LOT! It isn't a fertility pill, in fact it's a pill for diabetics (which in case no one has told you, it is believed widely now that PCOS can cause diabetes). Metformin also known as Glucophage can help stabalize your cycles and balance your metabolism. It has some temporary unpleasant side effects, but it has probably helped change my life.
Date: 2/22/2012 2:16:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 57350    Thank you all for the support, ive msg some of you with responses to your comments, those I havent I do plan to just been kinda busy. Ive taken Metaformin before but had to stop, it made me super sick.
Date: 2/22/2012 4:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 49101    Metformin does have some icky side effects, but how long did you take it? They taper off after time. My BFF Leyvis also has PCOS, and she had been trying to get pregnant for about 3 years (into her late 30's early 40's) when a doctor prescribed her the Metformin. Within 3 months she was pregnant and a year ago delivered a beautiful bouncing baby boy.

I would give it another go, asl if they can either reduce your dosage or give you the time release kind. I swear by Metformin. You can also try the generic, as sometimes one might make you ill and the other won't.
