BLADENBORO, NC (WECT) - The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 in an animal cruelty case out of Bladen County.
Animal Control officers in Bladen County say they found a male boxer-bulldog mix named Tiger covered in scalding hot grease on Hemlock Drive in Bladenboro Friday night. He had third-degree burns covering his head, back and legs.
Animal Control took Tiger to A Shelter Friend to undergo surgery and is recovering with a local veterinarian. The shelter fears Tiger is not the only victim. There is another bulldog with similar burns near Whiteville.
Officials are investigating to see if there are more burned victims, maybe done by the same person.

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Another dog has become a victim of animal cruelty in Bladen County.
Animal Control picked up an eight-week-old puppy, whose been named Zena, on Sunday afternoon and immediately took her to Elizabethtown's Veterinary Hospital for treatment. Supervisor Ted Carter says this dog's injuries are worse than the first dog they found. No one has come forward to claim either dog, but it appeared to be someone's pet because it was wearing a collar and was calm around people.
Last week, another dog was found in Bladenboro with similar burns. He had third-degree burns covering his head, back and legs.
Bladen County Sheriff's Office has also been notified and is investigating this second case. Investigator Sue Lutz says the two cases may be connected or there is possibly a copy-cat.
Police are sending Zena's shavings to a lab to determine what chemical caused the burns. They suspect the puppy was rubbed down with grease and lit on fire.

Both of these can be found on the WECT website. The first happened in Bladenboro and the second incident the dog was supposedley found four or five miles away from the first. There was another one similar but it was in another county only 12 miles away. Either way I hope they catch the person/persons doing this.
