ok, so lets start out by saying today matt and i are closing on our house..so..as you can see we were very excited all morning and wanting to get to the title company as soon as possible. we had it planed so i could go to work directly after we were done.

i was in a rush to get my hair and makeup done for the day. i was in the middle of brushing my foundation on when a sudden sweep accross my nose caused me to loose my grip on my brush. i swept accross my right eye just as i got my hand back on it and it jabbed right into my cornia!! it was sooo painful.. all morning long the pain never went away. i even tried to use eye drops so i could wash out the makeup but it burned so bad.

thats right.....i put a makeup brush into my eye...

after we signed the papers for the house and i went to work for an hour i desided i couldnt take the pain anymore. i went the the eye dr. wher i found out i took a big slice out of my eye. Yes i can still see but the pain is really bad.

i guess i wont be wearing makeup for a few days until my bandage can be taken off..

only i can have something like this to ruin a good day.

Date: 7/29/2011 1:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 64819    You sound like me. I hope it heals quickly, and congrats on the closing.
Date: 7/29/2011 5:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 31765    Oh man, you really have my sympathy. Earlier this month I managed to lacerate my cornea. The doc said it was so bad, it looked like what he sees when someone faceplants a windshield during a car wreck. And the weird thing is, I have no idea how I did it.

I was amazed at how much it hurt. And on top of that, I developed something called iritus in both eyes. I ended up in the hospital for almost a week because of that (and my blood sugar had gone way out of whack). I spent all but the last day with patches covering both eyes and the nurses putting drops in my eyes every two hours.

Enough about me (sorry, didn't mean to hijack your post lol) but you really do have my sympathy. Follow your doctor's instructions. The good thing about corneal lacerations is that they heal really quickly (sometimes within 24 hours) so you shouldn't have trouble with it for long.

Good luck!

Date: 7/29/2011 7:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 21903    Oh nooo!! Thats so awful! Ouch!! Don't get me wrong, I've had a slip and put a liquid eyeliner pencil right in my eye -- but all that did was put a bunch of black liquid in my eye- it def. could have been worse. Hope your eye feels better soon!!

Date: 7/30/2011 7:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 2734    Aww this is terrible. I can relate though. I have many stories like this but one that springs to mind is when I was fourteen, I stupidly would put my curling iron on the bed since it plugged into the socket closest to my mirror. I was in my underwear and I sat on my curling iron the morning I was leaving for Cedar Point (an amusement park for those who don't know--- A LOT of sitting on bumpy rides). At the time, I was a country/farm, girl and this was a BIG deal to me to go anywhere. I have to say, sometimes when the best things are happening, we get a reality check.
