Oh man, you really have my sympathy. Earlier this month I managed to lacerate my cornea. The doc said it was so bad, it looked like what he sees when someone faceplants a windshield during a car wreck. And the weird thing is, I have no idea how I did it. I was amazed at how much it hurt. And on top of that, I developed something called iritus in both eyes. I ended up in the hospital for almost a week because of that (and my blood sugar had gone way out of whack). I spent all but the last day with patches covering both eyes and the nurses putting drops in my eyes every two hours. Enough about me (sorry, didn't mean to hijack your post lol) but you really do have my sympathy. Follow your doctor's instructions. The good thing about corneal lacerations is that they heal really quickly (sometimes within 24 hours) so you shouldn't have trouble with it for long. Good luck! |

Date: 7/30/2011 7:32:00 PM From Authorid: 2734 Aww this is terrible. I can relate though. I have many stories like this but one that springs to mind is when I was fourteen, I stupidly would put my curling iron on the bed since it plugged into the socket closest to my mirror. I was in my underwear and I sat on my curling iron the morning I was leaving for Cedar Point (an amusement park for those who don't know--- A LOT of sitting on bumpy rides). At the time, I was a country/farm, girl and this was a BIG deal to me to go anywhere. I have to say, sometimes when the best things are happening, we get a reality check. |
