Date: 6/15/2011 11:48:00 AM From Authorid: 38601 I miss the openness. I feel like too many lines were drawn and too many people got excluded, in a way. I feel like this site used to genuinely be about sharing experiences, and then, at least in my experience, people started hijacking it in the name of certain causes and putting down others. I don't see so many of those people anymore, but it definitely put me off. |

Date: 6/15/2011 12:31:00 PM From Authorid: 18516 I miss how lively it use to be, so many posts that you couldn't keep up, tons of comments & responses. Hearing different viewpoints, opinions, advice, ect. There was so much variety when it came to the posts too, I liked that. |

Date: 6/15/2011 12:56:00 PM From Authorid: 64365 USM is still my favorite site, and even if I miss those that don't come around much anymore, there's still the ones that do, and they rock! |

I love Ghost stories and discussions oh and Mysterious Sounds. And the interaction with people from all walks of life. |
Date: 6/15/2011 1:25:00 PM From Authorid: 41744 I used to love the chats and the whole family atmosphere this site used to have |
Date: 6/15/2011 1:38:00 PM From Authorid: 27414 I used to like some of the debates that went on for days. I'd find myself running to the computer to see what I'd missed. And, for the most part, they were intelligent, debatable discussions. Then it got too restricted to say much. No one wanted, OR WERE ALLOWED TO, start a good discussion after that. |
Date: 6/15/2011 1:39:00 PM From Authorid: 27414 Now ask yourself, why did so many people leave and you'll have your answer. |
Date: 6/15/2011 2:33:00 PM From Authorid: 26303 I confess..I'm an USM addict. I come everyday, more than once. LOL. I rarely post, although I did last night..lol. I read whatever grabs my attention...and often comment. I'm also a Facebooker..I'm a woman, I can do both. LMBO! |

My favorite part about USM was when we could conversations with others whom you disagreed with on some concepts/issues but agreed with on others, and a polarity of views was not seen as establishing a pariah atmosphere. In other words, people would converse based on the ideas being presented and not the person presenting the ideas. Personality conflicts were handled in an adult way. Now, as in "real life" there are more people who need a nanny-state to keep them in a "safe place" than there are people who are in a safe-place because they take responsibility for their own individual behavior. What I never found to be a positive at USM are the deletions. I understand some people want old posts, and or dubious comments deleted, but to me that is altering reality. Whatever was posted WAS posted. "Why attempt to deny reality?" is a question I have continually asked . . . God Bless. |
Date: 6/15/2011 7:20:00 PM From Authorid: 64593 Oh goodness I looooved all the eerie stories people wrote and experiences they had. Pages filled with them. |
Date: 6/15/2011 8:38:00 PM From Authorid: 28848 My favorite parts are the people, the community, the standards that G&G uphold, and of course all the great posts. |
Date: 6/16/2011 7:41:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 36901 No matter what the future holds, I will always be greatful to G&G for giving me the opportunity to meet such a wonderful variety of people. I have made many friendships that will last a lifetime and nothing can take that away. |
Date: 6/16/2011 9:36:00 AM From Authorid: 61966 The number one best thing about USM, is the friendships that come from this site. When I came to this site, I was 13/14..a kid who didn't have many friends. Here, I felt accepted and made friends with people of ALL ages. I could share my poetry without something thinking I was "uncool" for writing it, I could connect with people in ways I could not in real life because people didn't/don't judge you here. There are times when I'm away from USM but I'm always coming back because this place is like home. I'm not worried about the drama that happened in the past, thats the past. I'm not worried about people "missing the way things use to be", things do change..and if we want change, then don't just talk about it, lets do it. Last weekend, I was telling my moms roomaate about USM, tears actually came to my eyes thinking and telling her about the people and this place. It may sound silly to others, but not me. OK I'm done going on and on, lol. |
Date: 6/16/2011 1:36:00 PM From Authorid: 14314 I love the ghost stories, and I love how we can comment on each other´s posts God Bless |
Date: 6/16/2011 4:54:00 PM From Authorid: 28190 I have always loved coming here and reading the stories. That's what attracted me to USM in the first place. As time went on, I came to appreciate the people more and more, and now, definitely appreciate the friendships that I've made here. No matter what, USM brought many friends in to my life that I don't think I'd otherwise have met, some of them in person, or offline. I love that. I Definitely agree with BB too, other people don't understand it quite as much when you try to explain it to them. <3 |
Date: 6/16/2011 6:40:00 PM From Authorid: 21839 the people on here are amazing... I loved to read the debate posts but didn't really like debating.. chat room.. I loved reading & posting on everyones stories.. espically the paranormal .. so many good posts & people thru the years |
