Dully Ferry Bridge

As a lot of you know, I live in a town that is located in both Texas and Arkansas. I'd like to share a legend with you about a story in Arkansas.

It is said that back in the 60s, a lady was driving down Dully Ferry Road (Miller County Arkansas) and ran off the bridge. She and her young daughter were both killed. The father was very upset and would go to the bridge daily and throw quarters in the water and his daughter's ghost would throw them back up to him. (He always gave his daughter a quarter when he came home from work. It was their "thing"). One night, he was at the bridge and had a roll of quarters in his pocket. He was struck by lightening and killed. They say the quarters melted in his pocket. As the legend goes, you can throw quarters off the bridge and they will be thrown back up to you. The quarters thrown back up are melted and mangled.

I have always loved this legend and I always say I'm going to visit the bridge. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to it.
