As you know, a lot of members are on facebook now. But I come by usm everyday too, just to check msgs and see what's going on. I'm glad to see members coming back here.  |

Agreed. I signed up about 9 years ago and you couldnt go more than a few minutes with out a new post, now it seems to be hours. I went on hiatis for about a year and just recently returned... It is definately quiet, but Ive seen a few people come back, but not many.  |

yea it's quiet..but it's also a lot more peaceful. Not as many heated debates, or personal attacks on posts. And some of our most beloved usmers have passed away and no longer with us  It is still a great place though, and I try to keep up with hauntings, and such.  |

Yes it has been very quiet around here. People seem to come and go. Many have grown up and are leading busy lives of their own. Marriage. Children. School. Jobs. But from time to time I see old faces peek in. I know there are a lot of lurkers out there. Lots of people come to just read.  I would love to see it pick up around here again. New faces and old faces!  |

Yes, I think Facebook can take a good deal of the blame for siphoning people away. It has happened to a couple of other social websites that I hang at, too. The good news is that Facebook is a fad, one that is--I think--in the process of burning itself out. I became disenchanted with it after only a few months. I'm on USM a little bit everyday, and am always very glad to see that the site is still here. USM people outstrip FB any day of the week.  |
