Sometimes we do things in life,
They seem harmless, at the time
We ignore the consequences they might bring,
When we realize, for dear life we try to cling.
Sometimes too little, too late,
When you come to know, you've lost your fate.
If I sat and told, about the times,
That I've had guilt, you'd be surprised,
Guilt? Big or small,
Summer or fall,
Guilt you can't deny,
Inside you, eating away, at your heart.
You run, you run, you cannot hide,
Guilt catches up to you, you can't abide,
You've hurt, you've lied
To a he or she, your love denied.
Lies and lies, easy way out??
They might forgive, but won't forget,
For with honesty, your heart's at debt.
Bottom line, guilt, has haunted us all.
