No Strings Attatched (2011) (PurpleRoses)

This movie has a great story and a great cast. It stars Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher. This is a modern rom-com. It is not the traditional movie. The basica story seems similar, but was refreshingly not the same. It begins with a young Adam (Kutcher) and Emma (Portman) meeting at summer camp. Then we have a montage of their various serendipitous meetings over the years. Eventually, Adam is out of a relationship. He and Emma spontaneously begin a physical relationship, and things go from there. The writing is very well done. Great lines, smart, funny. The supporting cast includes such wonderful actors as Mindy Kaling, Lake Bell and Ludacris. They are cast perfectly. The story is familiar to modern audiences. The trials and tribulations that come up (such as a gold-digger ex-girlfreidn who wants to be your step-mom), the trouble with impersonal communication, the new "rules" of dating. The story is quite touching as we watch Emma and Adam walk through and wonder if they will make it to the other side of their troubles. Sometimes, the thing that holds you back from love is you. In this case, Emma is the one who has trouble connecting with her emotions. She is a successful medical professional, independent,smart, and self-sufficient. Adam has whatI think would be a PA job. We watch him woo a reluctant Emma and truly root for him all the way. He is sweet, attentive, romantic, in touch with his emotions and a very caring guy. Also, if you see this movie, make sure to stay until the end. You get to see peeks of how everyone ended up. Great movie
