How would it change? (PurpleRoses)

I have a question for your perusal. How would life be if we were always honest about our feelings? What if we could be honest about everything from hurt feelings to sexual orientation without fear? Furthermore, a followup question is what stops us from complete honesty now? I am not talking about being blunt or abrasive or willfully malevolent. I mean honest. When was the last time you felt totally free to say how you felt or what you thought? So USM let's get this conversation rolling.

Date: 1/17/2011 6:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 28767    Honestly, the truest path to enlightenment is total honesty. No one should ever be afraid or fear being rejected because of what they feel. We reflect a lot of our emotion's onto other people and object's. People are a direct reflection of how we feel about ourselves. This is the hardest thing to learn. But, what you see in other people is a direct reflection of what we see in ourselves. People can see the same thing but, in a hundred different ways.
Date: 1/17/2011 7:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    Being honest in a nice way is the best....I know there has been times when I knew or felt that my honesty could hurt one's feelings so I don't comment at all and find a way out of the question...I suppose it depends on the type of question, and the person involved, but I do try to be honest with everyone but at the same time I would never dream of hurting one's feelings if it can be avoided..I'm up against this situation quite often, and my honest answers are always done in a nice way..

Date: 1/18/2011 1:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 42703    I agree with Zema. I think alot of it is the words you use when you are honest. I don't want to come off as being "fake" so I am as honest as I can be, although fully taking in consideration the person I am talking to. So I choose my words very carefully (most of the time).
Date: 1/19/2011 9:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 53284    I think that it's good to be honest but sometimes it's good to reflect on a situation before you voice an opinion. In the heat of the moment, things can be said that would not improve a situation. So honesty is great if you're willing to accept the consequences of your honesty.

Date: 1/19/2011 12:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 4144    i guess nothing would change for me. i'm blunt. i don't sugar coat anything and i call it as i see it. i'm not really mean but i can be if i need to be. so i guess nothing would change for me.
