Two In one Day (PurpleRoses)

As you may know, I have been back into painting. As of yet I have not taken on the Eiffel Tower. I have done a triptych and now today I did two abstracts. I shall present them here with a little intro under each.

GeometryThis is a painting about shapes and layers. The background cycles from maroon to red to pink. There is a large deep purple circle in the center flanked by two green rhomboids. On the outer edges are two translucent orange squares to finish off. I am a stickler for symmetry. I also like the use of clashing colors to bring interest to the piece. The background is very fluid and the foreground shaped are solid and firm. I love the dichotomy. I feel it brings an overall sense of balance to the piece.

Gemini This painting to me is about joie de vivre. It is about immersing yourself in life. The background is a washed-out lilac color with some deep purple circles. The background has a water-like effect because of how I applied the paint. The foreground includes salmon-ish pink triangles with cut-outs or notches. One triangle faces up(or right) and one faces down (or left)depending on how it is to be hung. Then we have splashes of salmon, yellow, and orange all over the face/foreground of the piece. I feel like this piece's bright colors and vibrant shapes/paint application are all about getting caught up in life, love, and joy.It is the dance of life fluid, graceful yet also transient.

Both of these pieces are 11x14 canvasses with wooden supports. Once again, please tell me what you think. Also both of these are for sale if you are interested you can message me. Any input would be welcomed. I love showing my stuff here because USM is family.

-Rad.. very creative..
