Hey there! My story is pretty much the same as yours. I have always been interested in unsolved mysteries and had quite a few books that catalogued all sorts of them. Another passion of mine are the Insane Asylums of the past, the ones that have been deserted, and condemned. I loved researching the stories and the history, and I was doing just that when I came across this site...not that I consider it an Insane Asylum, deserted, or condemned. I fell in love, immediately. It just felt like 'home' and I was addicted straight up. I still go out and research unsolved mysteries, and ghost stories, and UFO sightings, and all the unexplained phenomenon, but USM is my homesite. I love it here. HUGS  |

I was looking for a chat in english to test my language skills. I searched Yahoo (or maybe it was Alta Vista) an USM was one of the results that came up.
And since I've always been interested in the paranormal it seemed like a good choice (people posted way more in the "Mysterious" section back then).
Pretty soon I discovered that USM was so much more than just posts about ghosts, goblins and UFO's and whatnot.
It was also full of amazing and wonderful people.  |

I was trying to catch my mouse one day and followed him in here, I was chasing him all over USM, then he got his tail caught in the door of the quotes section. I put a splint on his tail and nursed my lil mouse back to health. He still runs around here with a kink in his tail, this has caused a slight hitch in his get-a-long!! Its ok to laugh at him, everybody else does!!  |

I was searching for paranormal websites and this came up. I was delighted to see a poetry posting section and all the subjects on it. I was even more delighted when I made my first 200 posts and got my taggie. It feels like home to me here. Even when people give me their honest non sugar coated advice I love it and appreciate it every word they say because I am very neurotic and post a lot of stuff regarding that here. The people here are great. I'm glad I found USM.  |

My dad used to lurk here. He told me about it and told me that it didn't have anything to do with the tv show and that it was an interesting site to read. I lurked for a while then decided to become a member. My dad didn't become a member he just read stories from time to time.  |

I was ooking for the web site unsolved mysteries to ask john walsh if he could help me find my little brother. Have him help me get my kids back I asked my hubby and we signed up. It was around 2002 after my kids got taken and so I named my taggy after my daughter comforter sweetgirl.  |
