work trouble, i have to vent..*sunshine

UGH ok so im a manager right, well ive been having some issues at work. I hate to go and turn ppl in for doing stupid things. i just hate making a fuss period.. well at work some problems went down with a client..she ended up not paying for her service that she got. then behind my back another manager (thats over a dif department) gave the ok for her to come in and get 2 more free services. on top of that she wanted me to leave early by 2 hours so we wouldnt see eachother. (me and the client) ...so, of course i didnt leave. it was a saturday so i wouldnt leave my staff on a busy day.

so that was one problem i had.

then i was sick long story short i got carbon monoxide poisoning from my heater in my house. and i was out for 2 days

when i get back from being out i get told im not geting payed for my sick days!!! thats what sick days are for..you get payed for them, we are allowed 15 in a year and the year just started. so, i look up the policy in the handbook and sure enough... i need to be payed for those days.

UGH i really hate turning ppl in ..but OMG dont mess with my PAY...and dont mess whith my department..grrrrrrrrrrr...hisss

Date: 1/9/2011 10:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    Being a manager is not an easy job to begin with because you are accountable for the actions of your subordinates. To have another manager step in and usurp your authority on an account needs to be addressed...especially if the manager is over another department altogether. As for the sick time, if it is written in the employee handbook then you can make sure your HR department knows that you need to be paid your sick time especially if you have a Doctor's note stating you were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning and needed those two days to recuperate. I know that you are in a situation that makes you uncomfortable, but speak up for yourself just like you would one of the employees you manage.

Now, with your pay....it sounds like you have taken all the right steps (A Policy Handbook Is A Good Wat To Win Your Claim). I hope you end up getting paid. This sounds so ridiculous.

Date: 1/12/2011 12:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 5252    If they dock your pay I would show them in the handbook where it says how many days your allowed, make them full aware that you know the policies and if you don't get reinbursed take it to the labor board, they are going to get in a lot of trouble, and I'm sure they don't want to push the issue.
