Hello USM! Hope this post finds you all well and happy!

I just wanted to drop by and say hello. I've been around more lately, but haven't "said" much. We still don't have internet, but hubby showed me how to tether (hope I'm spelling that right) my cell phone to my laptop so I could visit here. It's slow, but I'm glad to have the option.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you celebrate). Ours was wonderful. They boys got tons of stuff and we all enjoyed time with family. Thomas and I didn't do a lot for each other because money is tight, but we are together, happy and our kids are taken care of. That is a gift in itself. He did get me a beautiful sterling silver mother's ring, but we ordered it too late to get here by Christmas. I'm very excited about that and can't wait to get it.

After Payne was born in September, I'd posted about having blood clots in my lungs. Well, they can't seem to get the blood thinners regulated. That means my doctor still won't let me go back to work. That alone has been very hard on us. We're making it though. We have a roof over our heads and plenty of food. The kids have everything they need. We have family who are there to help if we need it. So far, we've managed to pay the bills without having to ask for much help and have just enough left for food and things the kids need like diapers and formula for Payne. My dad did pay to have my car registered for 2011. Sometimes it gets a bit depressing, but I just remind myself that the important thing is that we are a close loving family and should be grateful that we have each other and the things we need to survive. There are people who don't even have that. Our landlords are wonderful couple (husband and wife). They really care about us and the kids. They are good about letting me pay the rent a little late when I have to because they know they will get it as soon as possible. I'm praying that I'll be able to go back to work soon.

The worst part though all of this was losing Mr. Mac. If you've read my past posts, he is one of my clients that I've been very close to and talked a lot about. He was like a grandfather to me. He was one of the most loving and generous men I'd ever met. I took care of him for almost 4 years. He passed away in November not long before his 94th birthday. I still keep in touch with his family and miss him dearly. In fact, they have another family member they want me to take care of through the same company I worked for with Mr. Mac. My doctor just won't release me yet.

I won't bore you guys any further. Hope things are going well for everyone who reads this. Tell me what's been going on with you.

Apryl

Date: 12/27/2010 6:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 64365    It's so good to see you here, Apryl. I'm sure things will get better for you, soon. I'm on vacation this week, and the only bite out of it is having to go for xrays and to the doctor. Other than that I'm just going to get rid of all the stuff I couldn't live without in 2010 that I really can live wihtout...LOL...before the 31st, so I can go into 2011 with a lighter load...clothes to churches, christmas treasures to my kids, etc.

I've been in your situation before when things looked bleak and my landlord was going to just let me live in the house in La Marque rent free til I got on my feet. There are just times when special angels are put in our paths to give us a hand up. I'm glad you are doing okay.

I hope your medical problems resolve soon so you can rest easier. Many blessings for the brightes New Year. HUGS

Date: 12/27/2010 11:32:00 AM  From Authorid: 11240    It is good to see that you are counting your blessings. Best of luck on regaining your health in the coming year. The best Christmas present in the world is the look of a child's wonderment and if you got that, then you're rich beyond measure.

God Bless.
