Date: 11/18/2010 6:22:00 PM From Authorid: 37150 I try not to spend that much time on there, but it is an app on my phone so I check regularly. lol! I recently got one,too because i had lost touch for 2 yrs with one of my bestest friends that I've known since 6th grade,so we got reconnected and now i won't miss out anymore! I even got in touch with my former English teacher and was able to observe his class today and even got some helpful advice today. All thanks to facebook. lol. I am picky with my friends, I only add people I consider friends. |
Date: 11/18/2010 7:29:00 PM From Authorid: 64095 I was one of those people who swore facebook and myspace stuff was evil and i wouldnt partake, I play an online mmorpg and some people from the game had it and curiousity won out to see what they looked like in real life, so i made a facebook, i didnt use my real name I used my character on the game. I pretty much play the games on there, and accept friends who i've never met who play the same games but i dont use the facebook to put all my real life on display, i still like to think i am shrouded in a touch of mystery ;-) |
Date: 11/18/2010 8:13:00 PM From Authorid: 53961 I'm there frequently. Friend me! <3 |

I'm actually getting a bit tired of Facebook. I have a couple of hundred friends over there, and with so many people on the list .. the messages on the home page go down so quickly that I have to search through a lot of 'stuff' to read the important info that friends put in. Sometimes it is like looking through the proverbial haystack for just a few morsels of good or interesting comments. Also, I joined FB to play Farmville ... (at the persistent request of tons of family and friends). I think after I reach level 100, I'm gonna semi-retire from it. I need a more productive and satisfying hobby for those times when I'm on the phone on hold ... *twiddles thumbs* ... LOL |
Date: 11/18/2010 10:16:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 I play Farmville on there and only joined early this year. I don't put up much personal info about myself and I accept people who I know are friends of my friends on there and family...and once I reach level 100 I'll probably not be on there as much... |

To The Amazing AppleKRISP... I have a FB account that I use a lot, hmm.. Once a year and I'm late by months this year. The I don't like to play the games, they make me feel like I'm wasting the precious moments of my life on nothing at all.. When I'm old and laying there in bed waiting to die, I know I will think about what if I were young again, or even just younger and more life. What would I do differently, the first thing would be to love others more and delete all the wasted time I spent playing games that had no benefits to them what so ever. Just resonding to your post if more important to me than any amount of FB games. The rest of FB to me is of very little interest unless I am conversing with friends which (for me) FB doesn't do a good job of making interesting. One has to realize that the only reason FB exists today is to sell and show advertising. Since I know that, when I see the advertising it makes the experience shallow. Knowing that they would sell my personal information in a heartbeat if they could get away with it, which they have tried to do numerious times. There security settings are hard to find and keep up-to-date. Every group you join, or application you use, tells people you don't know a lot about you without you even knowing. The very bad people there know this and take advantage of it. FB might not sell your personal information but there are many app makers that will and do. It is not a safe place for anyone, but it looks like it is harmless. -Rad.. |

27 face book isn't really for me .. you would think I'd love farmville but I can't stand it for some reason there is one game social city.. only @ lvl..40 ..very addictive games by the way .. all my friends speak different languages..so in order to find out they had a pizza party and watched bill cosby.. I gotta first search through all the nonsense .. sometimes to the older posts.. it's usually then I turn to see lily bug carving her art into the coffee table with black permanent markers.. and facebooks gets the X ... but I really love bill cosby when I get to the point of dead in the bed I wanna smile and say Thanks God..all this pain was truly worth those far and few & inbetween unbelievable, unimaginable moments I spent living .. |

i only add friends and family that i know. ok.......there are a few requests from relatives that i just ignore. if i don't like em when they are standing in front of me i'm sure i won't like them on FB either!! i also add USM members. and i don't have my last name posted. on FB i am karen mommabug and i don't have personal info (phone, address and such) listed in my profile so i guess i'm pretty safe with it. |
Date: 11/19/2010 10:36:00 AM From Authorid: 10722 I have a facebook account but only add family or friends of family. I use an ad blocker so I never see any ads anywhere, ever. |
Date: 11/19/2010 4:14:00 PM From Authorid: 43807 I have facebook, Add only people i am friends with, family, and get to keep taps on old friends, who would have just floated away without facebook. NEVER EVER add anyone you do not know! that is my rule. most of the time these people are collectors, or hackers, And another rule i have no outside apps becasue they carry viruses. |
Date: 11/19/2010 4:19:00 PM From Authorid: 53909 I have facebook and on it often I guess, gives me something to do. I only play a couple games on there. I have friends that play so many games on there and I just can't stay on the computer that long. I have usm friends, mutual friends, people I went to school with, family and some random friends I added for games back then. I deleted a lot of people a while ago because it was mostly for games and I don't play all the games. It's a good way to keep in touch with friends and looking for old friends and all. |
Date: 11/20/2010 3:37:00 AM From Authorid: 42945 When did you stop using facebook Paddy?? you sent me a friend request when I first joined there!! |
Date: 11/20/2010 7:54:00 AM From Authorid: 46486 I could have like 300 friends on Facebook by now, but I only accept and request friendships with people who are my REAL friends. In reality I must have about 150+ blocked on Facebook. Just to know that the trashy people from my past can't ever look on my page let alone see who I'm friends with thru their friends cuz they are blocked too, ahah. |

I use FaceBook for friends, family and a few USMers only. I use MySpace for anything and accept anyone who sends a request. FaceBook - I mostly log in check messages and log out. MySpace - I talk to a few people, play games and comment profiles or photos. |
Date: 11/21/2010 5:52:00 PM From Authorid: 63644 I have a facebook, and I have ~500 friends; I know all of them in real life. I don't add/accept anybody I don't know. I have to admit, I'm pretty addicted to it. I mean, it's not like it's interfering with my life or anything, but it's probably one of my most-visited websites. I've tried to deactivate it a couple times, but I always end up reactivating in a day or two. I like facebook, it's a good way to keep in touch with friends. |
Date: 11/23/2010 6:28:00 PM From Authorid: 21839 I love facebook... I have traveled around the world alot, so my friends are everywhere... I do have friends that I know of in high school but didn't know personally & have added.. its a brat thing.. you are family.. my dad was in the army.. but if I have 30+ friends in common, I will never turn away anyone.. if you request me & we have no friends in common, my ignore button is used.. I love to make new friends, who are friends of friends & keep in touch with my old friends.. |
Date: 11/24/2010 2:15:00 PM From Authorid: 34476 That is sound advice which one can apply to many websites, Radman I'm glad I'm not the only one who just 'goofs off' with friends on FB (friendly banter, normally nothing serious) but does not constantly barrage other people with useless information about my life. |
Date: 11/27/2010 1:44:00 PM From Authorid: 16671 At first I only made an account because my grandkids wanted me to, and maybe once or twice a month I'd check in see if anything was interesting happening. BUT then My son got a facebook too and we started doing the farmville, as it takes no brain power to do that as with usm one has to think to make and or deal with our own posts. I'm not in the thinking mood, have not been in the thinking mood for about two years now. But I have many usm friends there as well with a very large blood family, ya know cousins, neices, nephews, I'm a great aunt a regular aunt, mom and sister to so many, so yes its a way to keep up on what the family is doing |
