She came into my life when we were both very young. She had such a spunk to her. Boundless energy embodied. Over the years, we became very close. She was my confidante. We shared ice creams, took long walks. I told her everything. She was a great comfort to me when I was feeling down. She made me laugh. She was a great mother to her little ones when the time came. She was friendly, intelligent and patient. I moved away for college and then moved out of state for a while and had to leave her behind. I thought about her often while I was away. I was devastated to find that she had died while I was gone. Our 17-year relationship was over. I miss her quite often still, but I am hopeful that we will meet again someday.
This is another, slightly more eloquent tribute to my little Sierra Marie. She meant so much to me and always will. She was with me not nearly long enough. Pets really do become part of your life. They ask nothing much from you..food, shelter, care. In return they gift you with unconditional love, which is priceless. They are truly amazing and all have different personalities and temperaments. I love all of the pets I have had for their own individual reasons, but I may have had the strongest bond with Sierra. I am sorry to write about her twice, but I wanted to prove a point. She was not "just a cat".
