Let's talk about negativity... - - KRISTA - -

Howdy, USM! I'd love to say the old run-of-the-mill "Well, I haven't been here in awhile..." thing, because, well, I've been on quite a bit recently. Let's cut to the chase.

I can't stand negativity, especially in the wrong situations. To me, being negative in a generally positive situation is like being cheerful at a funeral: it's simply not right and even worse, it's depressing to everyone else. Recently, especially at school and even on USM, negativity has been rearing its ugly head all over the place and it just won't seem to go away. As of late, this gray cloud of negativity has just been hanging over my head and taunting me wherever I go.

Has this been happening to others as well? With the world now, it wouldn't shock me. With the way the media is nowadays, it seems like there's nothing to be happy about. It really brings me down and demotivates me-- it's hard for me to do much of anything when I'm feeling so bummed out and depressed due to negative attitudes.

I won't lie and say I'm an optimist by nature. Of course, I certainly wouldn't say I'm entirely pessimistic either, but the pessimism of the world nowadays is just attacking me lately.

So, USM, have you noticed this increase in negativity lately? It's really been bumming me out lately, and I just want to see how much of USM has been getting the same vibes as I have. Discuss.

This is the ONLY way I know how to deal with negetivity and I'm generally a negative person but you give me one good workout and I'm a happy camper. Usually...  
Date: 10/9/2010 6:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 3680    I agree with CP. I hit the gym at least 5 days a week. Put on my MP3 player, crank up the tunes, and just hit it hard for 2 hours. Then I cap it off with a 2 mile run. I've been to Iraq three times, so I know all about the negativity. The gym is my sanctuary. I notice a huge difference in my attitude on days I don't get to work out. Give it a shot.

Date: 10/9/2010 2:28:00 PM  ( Admin )   I think some big changes are comming in the world. I'm not sure what they are but. I believe some things really need changing before people can start to become trusting in their government and society again.

On the other hand each person should look to their neighbor and assure them of the love that still exists in the world. That alone can help a great deal.
