Well George and I escaped the blasting heat of Phoenix and moved us and our 10 year old daughter up here. The Northgate area is a nice area, but I don't know anyone who has lived around there. It's a mid-range area as far as income and housing. You could certainly call the toll free number of realtors in that area and ask them some questions. We live about 40 minutes away from there in Redmond Washington, which is a smaller city by comparison.
I think you should go to the library and look up some books about the Seattle area so you can see some maps of the areas, what the weather is like ... whats fun to do in this part of the state. You know .. stuff like that to see if this is where you want to live. George and I love it, and could never see ourselves living any other place. However not everyone likes every state. You have to not mind the rain, cuz it does rain(sprinkle really) a bit here. Probably about 20 to 25 days a month in our rainy months ... October'ish-April'ish. But May/June'ish through August/September'ish is really nice. I think our average summer temperature is 70/75 and in the winter we don't have many days that are literally freezing. And we usually only get a couple of snow's, and in Seattle the snow only is about 2-4 inches. Usually gone within 24 hours too. Books or online will certainly tell you a lot more about this area. It would be really fun to have you as neighbors up here in the Pacific Northwest !!! |

Sunny Delight ... I just recalled that you said your job in Seattle would make double your salary. With the recession and changes in the economy everywhere, you certainly should investigate whether the living costs, gas, food, housing and such might actually be double here as opposed to where your living now. The other day I was talking to another Texan, and she said her gas prices were a bit over 2.50 a gallon, where ours are over 3.00. So investigate well before making the jump. You don't want to leave family and friends unless your sure of the pond your leaping into. |

Awesome, congrats on the job offering. With the way the economy is now, I'd say go for it. |
