I think I need to get psychiatric help. --KRISTA/APPLESODAGIRL--

I wrote around May about having imaginary friends. Nowadays, I'm getting surer and surer that these aren't only imaginary friends, but something more. I can TOUCH them and they interfere heavily with my life. For example, I'll walk into class and see someone sitting in my seat, and I'll just stand there until they move. Most of the time, the people I see are not real, but instead characters from books, television shows, video games, and simply people I invent in my head. It's really bothering me as of late.

I also have an overactive imagination. My dreams are more vivid than most and I constantly think about writing new things - nothing's real to me anymore. It's all just a big idea for a story. I'm not myself anymore. I always pretend that I'm someone else - someone I've invented or otherwise. I hate that I can't just live life as me.

Next to this, I had an anxiety attack the other day. I was sitting in class, reading, when suddenly I began to feel dizzy. My head felt like it was in a vice and at the same time, it felt like it wasn't there at all. It was super hot and I was sweating like crazy. My vision was blurred and I was so confused and scared but I couldn't leave to get a drink of water because we were in the middle of a test. I don't want this to happen again.

Have either of these things occurred to you, USM? If so, what did you do and how did you get it to stop? I don't know what to do or who to go to, so I thought I'd ask my safe haven, USM.

Date: 9/14/2010 10:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 52489    Your dizzy spell might simply be ordinary hormones. Talk to your doctor or the school nurse first.
Date: 9/15/2010 12:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 42945    I would have a chat with the school counsellor who in turn could advise a good professional help for you sweetheart. It is good that you do recognize that you have a problem and need help...I wish you well and hope you can get satisfactory help..*hugs*
Date: 9/15/2010 4:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    I agree with Zema. If this is interfering with your regular life than it really is time to talk to someone.
Date: 9/15/2010 5:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 63026    I too have vivid dreams, and use to have an overactive imagination. I hope you can find someone who can help you.
Date: 9/15/2010 8:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 31765    the hardest thing to do is admitting you have a problem. After that, you can address it and make a plan to deal with it. You've admitted it. Now it's time to act. I, too, have a very vivid imagination. I think of scenarios that would make a good story. I have a lot of trouble sleeping so many times, I'll begin writing a story in my head. In time, I fall asleep. I think it's my own version of a bedtime story But when a vivid imagination begins controlling your life, rather than you controlling it, it's time to get some help. There's so many avenues to take and I'd say the first one to travel is talking to a healthcare professional. Therapy, medications are possibilities but can only be determined by a professional. You may think about surrounding yourself with friends and loved ones, rather than the characters from your books, games etc. Ground yourself in reality. We're here for you and if you ever need someone to listen, don't hesitate to send me a message
Date: 9/15/2010 1:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    Hello Krista ... I have really been missing you in Sat-Chat's, and now I can see some of what you have been going through lately. For the first part of your issues, I have no idea what could be causing this. For your vivid imagination, you could share some of your short stories with us that are made up in your mind. Maybe an avenue like USM could be a release for your thoughts.

For the second part, anxiety attacks might be caused by many things. First and foremost, I would go get a thorough physical examination by your doctor. All kinds of imbalances from hormones to blood sugar can cause a host of physical problems. My daughter has type 2 diabetes and if her blood sugar gets off, she can be very confused and irrational. Not knowing things that are common place things and feeling very weird. Thyroid issues can cause sweating too. Your vision and sweating sure sound like they could be from something actual, not mental. Psychiatric help will not be helpful if your symptoms are physical. Get checked by your general physician please.

Date: 9/15/2010 1:30:00 PM  ( Admin )   Yup that is exactly what anxiety attacks are like.. sometimes an feeling of impending doom. It could be hormones, you are at that age.

The imaination thing is what I would be concerned about, that is not normal..

You sould talk about this with your parents and let them help..

You take care of yourself. The world only has one of you and we need you..

Date: 9/16/2010 1:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 62445    I am not against you talking to a psychiatrist if that's what you feel you should do.

I don't know if you believe in God or not. I'm not trying to push my beliefs on you, I'm just only trying to help, and when it comes down to it, we aren't just flesh, we're also spirit, and demons which are spirits(evil spirits)like to harass people who don't know what to do about them. You are not crazy! Believe it or not those are demons. No this hasn't happend to me because the demons know that I know who they are. Demons tremble when they hear the name "Jesus". The name "Jesus Jehovah Gibbor" (The God of War) demons hate that even more when said like that.I know a lot of people hate Jesus, but it's true there is power in his name and demons can't stand it, and they can't stand if you read the Bible aloud or Praise and worship God.You should read this Free ebook about getting rid of demons, and demons are real, they don't have bodies so they can change to any form etc, and make you think you're crazy. Anyone, who really knows about how evil spirits are will tell you the same thing, You're not crazy!. You can also call for prayer. These aren't my websites and I don't personally know Believers on these sites, but it has helped me, so I thought I would share, because you are in spiritual war, and distressed.

This is a free audio that I found by a pastor Andrew Wommack, and it talks about the Believer's Authority over satan and his demons.

Date: 9/16/2010 4:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 62146    I know how you feel. Obviously it is effecting how you feel and stopping you from living your life. I have been there before. Without going into detail, I hear voices, And have imaginary friends hung around, and had a dormat other personality, I had to keep in control so I could be me. What you have said is very simular to what I go through a lot. So your not alone. Going to the doctors is a good step. Feel free to msg me too. I don't mind listening.
Date: 9/21/2010 10:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 61795    talk to someone and just hang in there. EVERYBODY has to go through at least one thing. you will address the problems, and i'm not a doctor but i do have a feeling that you will be okay.
