Spring 2001 Mrs. G's 12th Grade English Class

I was counting down the days till graduation... One more spelling test. One more this, one more that. Yay. I was waiting for Mrs. G to start my spelling test. I hated having to take a diffrent spelling test from everyone else. (I hated people treating me diffrently.)

Staring at my assigment book this odd feeling came over, it came to me out of no where. Chills, and goosebumps and then in my head I saw smoke and clouds. A feeling of being lifted up out of my seat, and sense that I was seeing a plane crash came over me. Suddenly, I felt like a disaster happened and I felt like my husband was missing and awaiting news of him and then finally I learn he’s gone. (not married at that time) I started writing a poem. It ended- 12 0clock and my world is gone. Then I snapped out of it.

And I was like hey MRS. G when are we going to take my spelling test? She looks at me. donuts, I already gave it to you. I was so out of it, I didn’t hear her give me a spelling test! That was one weird moment in donut history.

3 months later. Sept 11, 2001 Freshmen

Woke up 7 AM. Didn’t want to. Looked at roomie thought I bettery hurry, had to meet my new friend by the stairwell to walk to class togeither.. took a shower. Got dressed walked out to meet new friend. (glad I still have her today) She mumbleds something incorhently. We walked to class togeither rmember wet hair, and it’s cold.

There was a shout and a commotion in the hall Dr. K walked out of the room. We heard loud voices, one of them Dr. K and Deacon, and another mystery person. Pale faced Dr. K came back. Deacon heard it in the eleavator, she said that a plane heard one of the world trade centers.

Had odd feeling, but dismissed it, because well didn’t a helicopter hit it earlier this year? It would be ok. I looked at my friend, then turned to look at the other students. I think we all felt something odd. I looked down at a piece of paper and started writing a poem. It began- Nothing will ever be the same. Went back to dorm room turned on the news. Saw it all unfold.

Worst thing I saw was two people on the ledge walk towards eachother hold hands and jump. I think that has scarred me for life.

How it changed my life:

In every way.

Date: 9/11/2010 9:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 63026    I woke up crying that morning at 6:30 am, and wanted my dad home. It's weird how many people felt something bad was going to happen weeks and days before it actually happened.

Date: 9/11/2010 8:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 62679    I happened to have the morning off from school because there was an exam I had passed and didn't need to retake. I was in bed sleeping when I was woken by loud sirens and I was like what is going on?! I hop out of bed and go into the living room and my dad has an excited grin on his face and is telling me about a plane hitting the WTC. I was watching the news live when the second plane hit...I was so shocked! I couldn't believe what was happening. I didn't go to school that day. I don't remember what I did, all I can remember is what I was seeing on the news...
