I love those smiles you have with people when out. You know, the "Yep, I understand" smile when the kids are being annoying. The "Yep, I understand" smile when you've been waiting for ages and are trying to keep calm. The "Yep, that was kinda funny" smile when you both try to go the same way. So many different smiles, for so many different reasons. I might not smile all the time, but I really do do a lot of it.   |

Yep, I get some lovely smiles returned back at me when I smile at people..and it does lift your spirits to be on the receiving end of a smile  |

Another thing is for instance being aware of who is around you aswell..Say your strolling around in the store and an "odd" character is shopping around you...making eye contact, Saying "hello" and smiling will sometimes make a "bad situation or intention" go sour...Especially if his/her intention was to rob you of your purse, wallet...etc....  |

I commute to work on my bike. Most people are friendly and smile or wave at me, some won't acknowledge me in any way. From time to time, I will try to say Hi and smile at every person that I pass while riding my bike. It's very interesting to watch the reactions. Most people will smile/wave back. Some still won't. But, after a commute in which I try to be friendly to everyone, I usually feel better.  |

where i live its a matter of chance whether anybody even looks at you let alone smiles. having said that, a nice girl smiled at me today when i was at the coffee shop. you're right we should smile more, but first you have to look at people! dan  |

I always smile at people and give random people compliments, even if they're grumpy. You never know what their life is like, and smiles and compliments can do wonders.  |
