Well... I want to think that their daughter would carry it on, if she felt up to that. From what I know, USM is a handful and has to be kept in a cage, Lol.. It would be up to her to keep it, or let it just phase out gracefully. Someone here just might have what it takes to take it over and keep USM alive, too.. positive thinking is always a must I would like to hope that in this saddened thought about all of this, Bruiex... If it came down to closing the browser on USM, it would be nice if we all could have time beforehand, to gather our stories if not already saved, get emails, phone numbers, addresses and so on, from all those we love here so we can stay in touch... and, finally, to never forget the love that has circulated around USM for quite a few years in its Legacy. |

Date: 3/14/2010 8:23:00 AM From Authorid: 54444 What a thought provoking post. Personally I plan on being a centurion...only 29 more years to go for that to happen. But at my age the odds are I won't survive our wonderful founders. Nevertheless your point is very well taken; I don't know if George or Ginger have made any plans for such an event. I wouldn't have the technical ability to be much use so we would probably have to count on our admins. The last day of USM truly would be a sad day. |

Geo, Geophysical Meaning Earth and Science. Gin, from Virginia which is from Virgin meaning untainted as in spiritual. Like any death, it lives on in your hearts. -Rad. |
Date: 3/14/2010 1:53:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 I know I wouldn't have the abilities for sure to keep a place like this running and at my age, I would just have to sit back and enjoy whatever time we have left here if that was to happen. What a journey it has been to be a member of this place. I've made some wonderful friendships, cried and laughed along reading and commenting on posts, feeling the love spread around and I really dread the day if USM had to close its doors, it has been such a part of my life for going on nearly 9yrs..nice post Bruce and does make one appreciate all that this site has meant to all...*hugs* |

Someday I hope to visit them before they pass to the other side. God bless everyone on this wonderful site. hugs, |
