Ripped Away

 I once held open my hand

To you my friend

 Soul found soul

 Now I feel you slipping away

I feel my heart ripping away

It’s all coming too fast

 I don’t know if I can make it end

The past is dying fast

 Forces pull the earth apart

 Faces slide by fast

 I try to hold on

 But the earth is moving too fast

 I am dying last

Once we knew too much

Now we know too little

 There are places we loved together

 There are people we loved together

We said if ever you should need a friend

 I’ll be there

 But where were you when the earth ripped away

Hearts rip

 Earth slips

 One by one Faces slide,

 Faces collide, Erasing us.

Now your hand is cold and closed

Now your heart is gone awry.

 Now we know how it is to end.
