Lion coming my way

I am practicing spirit communication and so I practice specific meditations to assist me in this. My first night of meditation I had such a vivid dream, but I can't figure it out. I am on a dirt street talking to my sweetie casually. I look over his shoulder and see a lion coming down the stairs from a tall building. The lion disappears behind people also milling around on the upper street so I wait to see it again so I know which direction its going. Suddenly I see it again coming from way up the street towards us. I look at my friend but there is no reaction. I look at the lion again and only see the people milling around in the street, and when they have moved aside enough, I see that the lion is following my new rescue dog, who is coming towards us! The lion is not seeming like its stalking her, just following behind her. It was very real, sharp, and well lit up. The meditation dreams are always well lit up, in color and detailed, its like another world. And ideas? Does lion equate to strength?
