All the talk about Iran today and the idea that they are a repressed, controlled backward society is a myth being told to the West. Have ever been there? Does the majority of people believe all the news commentators and "Truth" concerning Iran? They are people just like anywhere. Here's the link

Western Governments and the Military along with Corporate Bankers don't care about the human cost of war and the Destruction they bring to mankind. All they think about is Power and Control. They want to be part of the Elite. Those that think they are ManGods and we are just Livestock. Waiting to be used when they feel like it.

If these images from this video do not show you a Iran that is modern and civilized. You really aren't looking.

Date: 9/26/2009 6:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    Are you seriously worried that we might do something to Iran? Obama is in love with the sound of his own voice, he isn't going to do much accept undertake a charm offensive. Scary I know! Britian has already appeased Iran when their sailors were taken hostage and they gave the lockerbie murderer back to Libya for some oil contracts so I doubt Iran is to worried about them. Sarkozy of France seems to have a spine, but I doubt his country would support him doing much. Last time I looked corporate bankers don't make war plans...or is corporate bankers code word for something else you wish to share? It is interesting that we were assured back in 2007 that Iran had stopped bomb making attempts in 2003. Seems to me we have no reliable intelligence.
Date: 9/26/2009 6:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 13297    Some of those pictures were truly beautiful. It's a place I would love to see if there weren't so much unrest and danger to go there as an American...
Date: 9/26/2009 6:44:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 51876    It is true ieMagic, as a American we are at a Cold War standoff with Iran. Yes Kelly, you can put down your neo-con goggles.Obviously you are of the mindset that what Governments say is true wether it be Iran's or the U.S.'s spin about each other. The people are caught in the middle of power hungry elitists on both sides who have major secret agenda's and bankrolls.

I am just trying to show the human side not the rhetoric of a Enemy.

Look at Israel they have had a nuclear capability for a bomb over 20 years and they don't allow U.N. inspectors, what's the diff?

Date: 9/26/2009 7:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 22852    @}~~ I didn't click on the link but that is because I do not judge people by their leaders or by what the press says. People are people, you have good and bad in every town/country. To judge all by the screw up of one is stupid and ignorant. To soon do people forget about Sept 11th when Americans were saying don't hate us people, for we are not the government and we aren't all hateful. Sadly Bruiex there are many who do judge countries and people by what they see on TV. Thumbs up to you for trying to educate others on the truth.
Date: 9/26/2009 7:57:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 51876    The images are still very inspiring and beautiful regardless of my motivation. Thanks, Stormchaser.
Date: 9/26/2009 8:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 22852    @}~~ I am sure it is beautiful but I have dial-up internet and it takes to long for me to load things so I will take your word for it as I know you are good for it
Date: 9/26/2009 8:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 12806    I'm looking..... but what I see is the same equivalent of what the media uses. The media uses "sound bytes". This is a prcess of showing you only what they want you to see or hear. It is called editing.
The people in this slide show are obviously priveledged; you can tell by the way they are dressed. And the platonic background song "Peace Train" (by Cat Stevens, long before he became Yusuf Islam) is part of the whole spin package.
You could make a similar video of virtually every country in the world.
I travel to many countries in the world. Right now I am in Brazil near Rio de Janeiro. I can show you some beautiful pictures of Rio, Sao Paulo, Macae, etc. But, I could also show you pictures of heartbreaking poverty and corruption and thieves. Here, there are millions of people who live in high rise apartment buildings that look very impressive from a distance..... But, when you take a closer look you realize that these apartments don't have windows or doors or electricity or running water...... although they look grand from a distance.

It wasn't the average American that declared war on Iraq, or any other place in the world for that matter. It was our government. We as a people are not against the average citizens (if you can use that term for them) of Iran. We are against their leaders and their military, and their "clerical" rulers who have absolute power. And, unfortunately, those are the ones we must deal with..... Not the kid with the snowboard. We have to deal with their radical president who has openly declared his desire for "genocide" against certain peoples, including the US.

So, please don't stoop to the level of the "spin doctors" and show us a couple of nice pictures and declare that THIS is what Iran is.
Another note FYI: Because I travel so much, I am required to have two passports. One passport is for general use to travel to and from most countries, but the other passport is for travel exclusively to Israel. If I travel to the UAE and I have a stamp in my passport showing I have been to Israel I can be put in prison and charged with being a spy. It is real, believe me, I have been there.

Date: 9/26/2009 8:34:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 51876    understand Raybone and I am not in denial, in fact if you would have read the comment to Kellly, I elude to this talking about governments. The Governments and Criminals are all part of the same international secret corporation.Read my reply on this current post at the top of USM homepage and you will see I am not a spindoctor. I do understand that these images are onesided.Just trying to show another side thean the one we in the U.S. see all the time, thanks for the unflinching criticism.

Date: 9/26/2009 10:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 16671    Bruce I see what your trying to say and yes the people, everyday people like you and I are loving their life, believe their president is going to keep them safe and that we are the bad guy. But see they don't seem to believe that we too are loving life, thinking our president is going to keep us safe. Sad thing is so many people like good little sheeple don't take a look under the blanket of politics. Our leaders apparently do not care about *we the people* and I do agree with Kelly we have no reliable intelligence. I did a lot of News reading on the BBC online newspaper and I've found that when it concerns other nations they are not trying to suck up but tells what they think of us, africa, and the rest of the places.

The difference between Iran and Israel is that Israel really do not wish to use what they have, they DO believe in peace and that is all they have ever wanted. Plus Israel has not threaten to bomb the USA, and Iran clearly everyday tells they want to kill off ALL the people of Israel, the US and other places where clearly were the devil because we are not muslim, there fore its ok to kill us all.

Date: 9/26/2009 11:00:00 AM  ( Admin )   All People are beautiful.

Power is corruption in liquid form.

Governments are the combination of both - Beauty and Power - and the only difference between governments is the ratio of beauty to power.

If the raw beauty in the people influences the power in the Government then the power is focused and the goals are more altruistic.

If raw power influences the Government and that Government is influencing the people then the results are exactly the opposite. This is more of what we are seeing in the world today.

*Altruism (from Latin: alter: the other) is the deliberate pursuit of the interests or welfare of others or the public interest.

The influence of 86 people which control who is the Supreme Leader of Iran is in my opinion far too little influence by the over seventy million beautiful people in that country.

I also believe that the influence of those 86 people is not constant nor periodic enough to influence important decisions that happen quite frequently.

The following is excepts from Wikipedia but I wouldn't depend upon them exclusivly for accuracy as the information appears to contradict itself.

For Example:

"The assembly has very few meetings annually and the members mainly discuss subjects not related to their duties"

and then following in the same paragraph.

"As all of their meetings and notes are strictly confidential"

* Below are the excerpts.

The Assembly of Experts of Iran is a deliberative body of 86 Islamic scholars that is charged with electing and removing the Supreme Leader of Iran and supervising his activities. Members of the assembly are elected from a government-screened list of candidates by direct public vote to eight-year terms. Current laws require the assembly to meet for at least two days, twice annually.

The constitution does not specify requirements for members of the assembly, leaving the assembly itself to put limits on who may be a candidate.

Iran's assembly of experts has been subject to many criticisms with respect to its structure and function. The assembly for instance has never invited the leader to its meetings. Iran's leader has never been asked to offer a report of his performance over the last few decades. Instead the members of the assembly met with the leader on several occasions to have his advice. The assembly has very few meetings annually and the members mainly discuss subjects not related to their duties, as commenting on the president and government's policies and Iran's foreign policy. Even some conservatives admitted the weakness of the Assembly's performance. In 2006, Mohammad Reza Bahonar, 7th parliament's first Vice Speaker said that the Experts Assembly should present a report on its performance so that the people realize the institution’s importance. As all of their meetings and notes are strictly confidential, the Assembly has never been known to challenge any of the Supreme Leader's decisions.
