My addendum and response to Bruiex's post ~ FieryMomOf2~

Hello my friends!

Bruce said it all pretty well. The spirits that guard our lives brought us together and are still watching over us. My dad was indeed a doting father and I miss him terribly, but I know he is by my side always. It was indeed his voice I heard that day when I read Bruce's post about going homeless, and felt a strong urgency to help. I have not regretted the decision.

We've had our share of frustrations, some highs and lows, but we connect so strongly on a higher level, that we overcome any tension and frustration. We're both open and honest people and we're straight up forward with each other. That makes all the difference in the world. You have to be honest with those in your life, otherwise you build a relationship based on falsities and deception.

In the beginning, I didn't read a lot of his posts, and I do apologize for any offense that might have caused. At the time, I was dealing with so much that I felt like the supernatural and related issues were too "deep" for me and above my level of understanding. In plain English, I didn't "get it." My world was focused on getting through to the next day intact and taking care of my kids. I've since gone back and read posts and we've had some pretty long conversations about those subjects.

I don't know what plans God has for our future. I can only live for the moment. Sure, we have long-term plans, such as purchasing a new home together since the one we currently live in is about 60 years old and very tiny. But other than long-range goals, we live day to day, taking each thing one step at a time. All I can do is trust that God knows what He is doing, and will fill our lives with exactly what we need.

I'm glad to call USM home, and I'm glad to have met the wonderful people I have here. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the 'Bammer Blast but perhaps if we have a Texas get together I'll be able to make it. I love all of you, and thank you for welcoming me into the family. My life has definitely changed for the better.

Date: 4/30/2009 1:34:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63201    Thanks Posey Bruce is a hardworking man, I feel like a lazy bum in comparison. *grin* But it's all good, we get along fabulously and by keeping the lines of communication open and free, we overcome any obstacle, which is key in any relationship.
Date: 4/30/2009 1:54:00 PM  ( Admin )   I love to see how we each can change each others lives for the better.

I believe that is how God intended for us learn and grow.

I think that if we don't engage with others we remain small in heart and soul.

You and Bruce have impressed me with your trust and friendship.

Date: 4/30/2009 3:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    I think that this is a wonderful post Melissa. I do admire Bruce for what he stands for and I'm so happy that you two were able to help one another in such a nice, friendly way. I'm a great believer that everyone needs someone, and it seems that you two kids have a good friendly relationship and I wish you, Bruce and the kids a happy future..*hugs*
Date: 4/30/2009 4:38:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63201    Thanks George. It took a huge leap of faith on my part to invite someone I'd never physically met into mine and my kid's lives and home. But the voice I heard kept reassuring me it was the right thing to do. Had my dad still been alive, he probably would've told me I was wrong, and that I shouldn't do it, but now that he's on the other side, I think that he sees things differently, and can see what is in both our hearts.

Thanks Zema, having Bruce here has truly been a blessing. The boys are getting older now and they really need that strong male influence. My brother lives next door but he isnt a frequent visitor and isn't around the boys as much as they need him. He's a great uncle, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't partake in the every day raising of the boys and guidance.

I still worry about things like finances and the future, who doesn't? But for the first time in my life I can say I'm honestly content with where my life sits right now. The future definitely looks brighter. Not to say we won't hit bumps in the road, but when you team up together, those bumps are a lot easier to take. A burden shared is a burden lightened so to speak...
