Since I've gotten stationed at Tinker AFB, OK, I've been alot closer to my friends in the Midwestern States. The Thinker, aka Catherine, lives in Missouri. We've talked for years and years and she's been a very positive influence in my life. We've talked about getting together, but it just never seemed to work out.
Well finally, after so long of talking about it, it worked itself out to where we could get together! About two weeks before Thanksgiving, we were talking about it and decided that I would fly up there to see her for Thanksgiving. There was some confusion at first because of the cost of airfare, but my friend found me a cheap ticket on Southwest!
Well, last week flew by and I got on the plane Thursday morning and flew up to Kansas City to see her. It was surreal the first day because I couldn't believe that I was finally in the presence of a good friend that I'd talked to for so long! But eventually, after a few hours of hanging out and meeting each other, that feeling washed away and it felt like old times.
For Thanksgiving we went to this awesome restaurant called Bristol. Catherine and I ate so much we could've busted!!!!! We also had fun getting turned around on the new freeways to get to a casino, which I'd never been to one in my life!! We did some shopping on the plaza on Friday, visiting amazing stores like Tiffany's (I'd never seen diamonds like that before!) and Victoria's Secret, and ate at the Cheesecake factory! They also had an beautiful Christmas light setup that we saw, but not too much because it was still daylight outside when we left.
Saturday, the snow and ice decided to come in, so we only got to eat at On the Boarder; it was too cold to shop and we just wanted to rest anyway. So we curled up in the living room with blankets and slept like babies!! Saturday night we just chilled at the house, since it was still too cold to go out!
I also had the pleasure of meeting her friend Don. He's a really nice man who has a good heart. Unfortunately, Sunday rolled around and I had to go back to the Air Force. Facing the blasting wind and daring the snowy roads, she drove me to the air port to fly back to OKC... But I had an awesome time and am glad that I got to meet her!
