Date: 11/21/2008 12:45:00 AM From Authorid: 23963 How long were the messages in your profile? My suggestion would be to try to logon once a week to check for new messages and then copy and paste them into microsoft word and save them. That way you can always look back to see what others wrote you. *Hugs* |

I think what he is saying Hangman is that it would be better for himself and a few others if, they could delete their own messages because, they are missing messages from their friends that they may not have gotten because, they didn't log in for fourteen days or more so, their messages were already deleted before they could read them. Now, for me I think it's an idea that I don't care to see implemented nice thought for those who may not log on for weeks, months, or years though. |
Date: 11/21/2008 7:54:00 AM From Authorid: 33401 I know what you mean, some parts of the year I'm way too busy to check the computer. Then I get messages and they aren't there anymore. |
Date: 11/21/2008 12:41:00 PM From Authorid: 52746 That would be a good idea. I can see the point of an expiration to those that are inviting us into chat because they arrive often but I've often wondered how many messages we could have missed if we're not here for a while. |

Well, I think there are very valid reasons for messages to be automatically deleted after x amount of days (7, 14 I don't remember which). Though I completely understand your frustration. I wonder if it'd be possible for George to work something so that if the messages have already been deleted, the message icon won't even flash. |

I do understand but, if you only log in say once every six months or once every year you can't honestly expect there to even be messages there. I'm not saying that people don't leave you messages however, even those of us that do leave messages know that all messages are deleted after 7 or 14 days. Which; all users know as well. So, you would rather have us waste valuable space to save messages for people that may not come on for weeks, months, or even years. That's jmo of course so, take it with a grain of salt |
