I honestly do not think that the tattoo that you are describing for your wrist would look professional as a nurse, but that is just my take on it. |

Of course I agree with you because I am worried about that but then again the small town I live in, you see a lot of crazy things with nurses. Maybe it would be a good idea to get it else where? |

Just some advice, people are still prejudiced against tattoos. It probably will affect your job, so it might be best to get it somewhere else on your body. Have you picked out the design? If not, then I personally wouldn't get a tattoo with only 7 days of thinking on it. I thought about my tattoo for a year before I got it. As for the hurting, yes, it will hurt. My tattoo was in a really fatty place (most of it), so it did not hurt as much, but it part of it was on a place that didn't have a lot of fat, and it hurt. |

I have an idea of what I want and I've thought about it for years and it still hasn't changed. I want to see if some sites will have a good picture of what I'm looking for. Thank you for your comments =) |

Keep your tattoos where only the one you love can see them. Tattoos are a definate no no in the professional world. |

... mine did any way, I have five tattoos. 1 on the back of my neck where the bone is (no pain) 2 on my upper arms (no pain) 1 on my chest (no pain) and 1 on my tummy (PAIN) that is the only one that hurt. I think it also depends on a persons pain tolerence too. G'Luck |

I love tats, but if you are going into a profession especially like nursing I think you need to have it where you can at least hide it at work...just my opinion.. |

if you are going to be a nurse (especially when in nursing school) you cannot have tatoos that show, you are supposed to cover them!!! Not such an easy task when you wash your hands 50,000 times a day, if you are having to cover a wrist tatoo with gauze, also is an infection control issue (the covering)... |

You better listen to Jungabel, thats the way it is.I am double sleeved almost and know all about placement.Put your Tattoo about 2" below the elbow, Measure the circumference of it and design your band accordingly. That way you can cover it up and have something private and public depending on your dress. |

Mine is on my calf, that way it's only out in the open if I ware shorts, if I'm going somewhere intollerant (like work) I can just ware long pants. The out line was the worst part, mostly just a little more pain than accupuncture, but it does depend on the individual tollerance of the person getting it. Make sure you go to a good place, don't be afraid to ask questions, try to see someone set up to start one (watch them take out new everythin out of packaging), if you have to make an appointment it means that the person doing it is worth the wait. Look at their previous work if possible. If you search tattoo on the web you will find all sorts of pics. |

My brother said his hurt alot .... but, the pain is only temporary. www.tattoofinder.com is a good website! They have thousands of tattoos stencils - but if you do find something you like, you have to pay a fee to download the stencil! |

I would say if you are going for nusing that is probably not the best place to have a tattoo. Maybe a little more discreet area would be more appropriate |

I have a question here. That is good that you are being considerate of your profession whether to have one or not. I just wonder if there is any such thing like a wide band thin as a rubber band that you could have tattoo's printed on or whatever and be able to wear it on your wrist? That way , if you wear it to an interview and they say that is not allowed you can take it off. There should be something you can do that is just as good. I agree it might not be the same as a real tattoo , at least you will be proud to wear whatever you want to as long as you are allowed to do so. Good Luck. |

I have a tattoo of a little aqua star on my left wrist.. it took all of 2 seconds to do and the tattoo guy hand drew it for me with an ink pen then traced it lol.. afterwards he took a pic of it for his portfolio cause he said it was the smallest tattoo he's ever done lol..it didn't hurt at all.. but if you are going into nursing i would think twice about it right there.. im an artist of sorts so doesn't really affect me in my profession plus it is so small hardly anyone notices it.. but good luck with it and show us some pics if you do get it! |

Since you are going into a profession of nursing, it won't be appropriate to have a tattoo where you want to get it, you may want to put is somewhere discreet. And as for designs, why don't you check out some local tattoo shops? They always have books, and other resources there! And talk with th e artists, they can usually help in finding the right spot, and the right design. |

Of course if I get a tattoo I will post some pictures for everyone to see. Thank you all for your comments!! I think I will put it some place else because naturally, my profession is WAY more important than a tattoo. |

I have a heart on my inner wrist. I had to have it redone 3 times because it is in a bendable place and can easily get ruined while healing. The pain of getting it shot up and down my arm and each touch up hurt worse and worse. |

I have one on my wrist and I have several other tattoos in addition to that. The one on my wrist hurt more than any of the others I have it was also more painful while healing. Right after I got it done my wrist sort of puffed up for a few minutes. It more depends on the person, I like the way getting a tattoo feels personally..pain is not an issue. |
