Have you tried looking in the yellow pages? Or contacting the schools in your area? They would know who might be able to teach you. Guitar teachers are everywhere. You should find one that suits your budget. You sound like you need to play, falling in love with a guitar and naming it sounds like a player to me. lol |

Aussie, I found a place were they charge like $50 for lessons. I'm still debating if I should take the class or not. I prefer private lessons. But, don't think I could afford it. |

Well, why not start off with the class, then you will know if you really want to learn or not. I say go for it! |

check out your local rec guide(they are usually put out by the pool/rec center in your area, or your local YMCA) i'm sure they offer lessons in there for a relatively affordable price for classes(though your not one on one you can still learn all the basics) your other option is post an ad on your local craigslist or a local university/college looking for a teacher with your listed price and an email addy.. i'm sure you'll get a few hits |

Such a beautiful guitar. I could never get rid of it, and I hope you don't either. There are online classes you can take. Some of them are free. I'll try to find some links for you and PM them to you |

Wow she is very pretty. I would say that books are the best to start with that show how to use chords and have pictures you may think that they are elementary but I think They will be the best to start with. Any books by Mel Bay are good because they show pictures and explain things You can get his books either at your local music store or if you google in his name I am sure it will direct you on where to get the books I know when I first started playing he had books listed by levels so start with #1 and go from there! Good Luck PM if you need anything else GOOD LUCK! |

My boyfriend is actually teaching me how to play right now. My father plays, my uncles, etc I grew up around it Learning isn't that hard really its just a pain on your fingers till they get tough enough to handle it. Don't get rid of the guitar You could probably find DVD's or something to teach you and then you could rewind and go at your own pace. Good Luck <<hugs>> |

I used to have all kinds of books for guitar. I have no idea where they are anymore. Probably got destroyed in storage with all of my other things that got destroyed. The music stores will have books with pics of finger positions, etc. for the chords. That would be your best bet. |

...beautiful guitar, by the way... I found an acoustic I would have liked to have had, but when I finally decided I deserved it, it was sold to someone else. It was the most beautiful color of blue I had ever seen. |
