Try listening to your favorite music. I like to sing to myself that little song "Don't Worry Be Happy!" |

Habit can become 'hardwired' within us. If we are in the habit of worrying then we tend to create a sense of self that has 'worrying' as a key component of who we are. Its what we do. And our minds are so fantastic and so powerful that they will self-fulfill and self-support its concept of 'who you/we are'. So often it doesn't really matter what we tell ourselves or what others say - our minds *filter* that information according to the concepts it already has. If it doesn't fit with its embedded concept it will usually discard that information. Thats the thing with our minds - there is so much for us to process, so many inputs, sounds sights smells thoughts feelings...all of it flooding it all day every day...so our mind operates as a *filter* to all that information and quickly sorts it in relation to what it feels is true and/or important...the rest just gets filed in the bin pretty much. So the trick then is to access that internal hardrive/processor/programme of sorts...much like a computer operating system. To effect true change its the silent running *systems* in the background of our consciousness/subconsciousness that need to be altered. A method of doing this is the repetitive usage of Affirmations such as "All is well and all will be well in all things" <---Saying something like that to yourself for instance 10 times when you wake up, when you brush your teeth, when you eat a meal, whenever you notice you're feeling worried...saying it to yourself regularly throughout the day may yield some benefits in regards to your outlook and focus of life. Yes it's essentially a form of self-brainwashing...but it's more about reframing and refocussing ones perspective, ones expectations and thus ones outcomes in what they do in life. |
