The Legend of the Behemoth

this is what i have heard for years from within my family folklore.



(Be-he-moth) meaning, an animal, perhapse a hippopotamus. and or a creature of monstrous size of power.



there was a man by the name of randy. he lived with his two older brothers in a secluded cabin near the foothills of northern california. randy was slightly blind. he could see shades and certain colors but beyond that his sight was not good at all. he and his brothers would often take long walks on the nearby trails of the wooded forest which surrounded the small cabin where they lived. randy had been through that trail so many years that he knew it by heart. he himself would walk that path alone with only a wooden stick to guide his path. one night as he made his way along the path he was startled by a couple of teenage kids pulling pranks on him. they led poor randy into a ditch in the ground. next a female voice was heard loud within the towaring trees. " leave him alone!" it announced. the creature jumped from the branches as it broke every twig in its path. the teen hoodlums saw it and ran in terror!

it helped randy out of the ditch. although he could not see it, he found her voice very soothing. before long randy was talking to it as if they were best frinds. the behemoth invited him to her living space (she called it) he agreed joyfully. before long their conversations had turned to love. never before had randy felt this way with another. they made love and he asked her to marry him.

the next day randy awoke in his bed at the cabin. could all of the night before only be a dream or imagination? he told his brothers very excitedly about what had happened. they laughed at randy, telling him it was all in his mind. randy decided to prove them wrong. he insisted that they both follow him out to the trail in the forest. by nightfall they did.

they walked a long way before they heard a horrendous cry beyond a giant over hanging tree. randy recognized it. "she is here!" he happily yelled out. next branches and falling leaves could be heard in the early night sky. and there it was... THE BEHEMOTH!!! randy was overjoyed. he kept asking what they thought of her. "is she pretty?" he wondered aloud. he went on to proclaim that he wanted to marry her.

randys brothers screamed out at the horror they had seen. in all of the panic randy was pushed back so hard that he hit his head on a nearby rock. he passed out immediatly. when he awoke he found his vision clearing. he could hear the loud sounds of crunching eating just ahead of him. moments later randy could miraculously see! he jumped up laughing!

when his vision finally became perfect he turned his head only to find his two dead brothers being eatin by a horrible giant creature. it looked back at him and said sorry honey, i got hungry....



....it was a bigfoot.
