Interesting little tidbit for ya, Chef on South Park, quit when they did a show about the evils of Scientology. Chef (voiced by Issac Hayes) had never had a problem when they made fun of other religions but since he is a scientologist, left over this episode. Hypocrit anyone? |

Tom Cruise is sciencetology "Christ" according to someone in Scientology! It's on Drudge I think, I only read the headline..didn't read the article because Scientology bores me, I've never been into science fiction. |

I loved that south park episode. It educated many by showing just exactly what they believe. |

I recently read where Nicole Kidman (who is no longer a scientologist, since divorcing Tom Cruise) is forbidden to say anything negative about the group. I read an article about how they isolate people and "brainwash" them into talking about their personal lives, promising them this info won't be disclosed to the public. I wonder if people who join this group & go through this type of therapy feel "blackmailed" into staying with scientology. |

As ignorant and shallow towards it as you are, I too wouldnt get myself involved in it. |

Sciencetology is very big in Hollywood. They have different levels, the more money you donate, the higher your level...I guess Tom will get to ride in the front of the spacecraft when it comes to pick us all up..I suppose I'll be riding in the trunk or left behind altogether. |

I haven't done much research on it, but just the way Tom Cruise handles it is kind of scary. Just to put this out for those who want to research it (I'm reading through it now): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology. Might not be totally unbiased, but I like Wikipedia. |

I cant tell you "more" as I dont fully understand much if any about it - It just seems strange to me that a religion like this is considered more evil than the many others we have around us |

I also worry about cult activities. People take religion and politics seriously. And because these are "chinks" in the armor, these same people can get preyed upon. |

Yeah, they're a bunch of nutjobs.. You wouldn't believe how many scientologists were in Hollywood when I was there. On L RUN HUBBARD STREET in Hollywood was the "official" church of Scientology. I can't fathom why someone would take something a science fiction writer wrote and believe it to have really happened. This guy was basically paid to fabricate stories, to lie to people.. and people buy into it! That's the worst part. They're all idiots. |

My true experience with Scientology: True Story: A couple years back I took a group to Hollywood, for a site seeing trip. Had never been there before, and thought it would be cool. As soon as we starting walking down Hollywood Ave., we were given free "tickets" to a new museum that had just opened up. We thought it would be cool, and went to check it out. It was a museum dedicated to the life of L. Ron Hubbard. (founder of the church of Scientology, didn't know that at the time, I just thought he was an author and speaker.) I had heard of him, but really didn't know much about him, so we go in, and it is a guided tour throughout the museum, complete with video and sound bites. At the first stop in the museum, we notice that our tour guide had vanished back out the entry door. I went to follow her, and we were locked in. Only when the audio stopped did she return. Really didn't to think much of it til she did vanished at each stop of the tour. She would just vanhish, no one would see where she went or why, and only during the audio and video part of the tour. We get about 20 minutes into the museum, and I ask our guide how much longer the tour is gonna last. She tells us it will last another hour, so I told her that we had much more that we wanted to see that night and that we were gonna leave. She got an extremely displeased look on her face, and tried very hard to talk us out of leaving. I very politely said that we had just driven all day to get there, hadn't had dinner yet, and didn't expect to be locked in a museum for the night. She reluctantly let us out, but announced to the entire front building staff that the reason we were leaving early is because we hadn't had dinner yet. The whole experience was very weird, and I can't help but wonder if there wasn't some sort of brainwashing going on in there... |

I had a friend who was a Scientologist. She didn't tell many people because of the negative reactions she got whenever she did. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met, and was very health conscious. The woman would literally take the shirt off of her back for someone who had less than she did. Thanks for sharing. HUGS |

I don't believe that is even a religion- it's all about the head people controlling their subjects. So brainwashing? Yeah, I'd have to agree. |

Scientology tends to require people to give in lots off money to the church in order to be a member. And any religion that demands that just so they can help you probbly is not that good to trust anyways. The true religions don't ask for anything they just help. |
