Date: 10/11/2006 10:51:00 AM From Authorid: 58308 Congratulations, Donuts!! Happy Birthday, Lila!! Try turning her onto her tummy, putting her on your knees and rub her back. They also have those vibrating carriers and rockers that work wonders. One of my aunts (way back when) used to wrap her girls in some kind of cooking grease with something else in it in a cloth diaper. My mother claimed that it really worked. They also have those colic drops you can put into her formula to cut down on it. Good luck! *smiles* |

Date: 10/11/2006 1:39:00 PM From Authorid: 63736 Awwwwwww! Congratulations! I hope you have enough diapers! I am sure Lila is a beautiful baby. Don't have any advice in the way of colic, although my mom's friend had a colic baby but he eventually grew out of it. They grow up so fast (or so my mom constantly tells me anyways) so enjoy her in all her colically glory! Congratulations, again! GW |

| health information | health factsheets Colic Published by BUPA's Health Information Team October 2003 Colic is when a baby cries for longer than three hours every day for more than three days a week. It is the extreme end of normal crying behaviour. The condition is harmless, though it can be very distressing for parents or carers. The cause is not known, but there are ways to help calm a baby down. About infant colic Colic is uncontrollable, extended crying in a baby who is otherwise healthy and well-fed. Every baby cries, but babies who cry for more than three hours a day, three to four days a week, may have colic. About 20% of babies get colic, and it equally affects boys and girls, first-born children and those born later. In general, it appears at around two to four weeks of age and can last for three months, or longer in some cases. Date: 10/11/2006 2:11:00 PM From Authorid: 63644 OMG sorry I went to see the condition before I could congratulate you! Congrats! |
Date: 10/11/2006 2:18:00 PM From Authorid: 14464 Congrats on the new arrival. As for colic from what I know about it is that it's mainly gas that is giving the baby stomach cramps. Try the gas drops and see if that helps. I didn't have a colic baby so I'm not sure about any of it, but I lived by those gas drops when my son wouldn't burp and would wake up crying later. |

shes not colicy at all it that after you feed her she gets gas in her and the only way she knows how to tell you is cry so go to the store and get milacone and that will help it cause my 13 yr old was the same way and that helped great.I don't know how to spell the stuff but it sounds like mil-a con.Congrats. |

Date: 10/11/2006 11:52:00 PM From Authorid: 14464 sweet girl I think it is Milacon that is the more expensive brand. They do have a few to choose from and others are much cheaper, but they are still costly. The bottles are small, but trust me they last awhile. I used one and half bottles in one year. It is amazing what the can do too and all the sleep you can get from using them! My mom was telling me they never had those when my brother would sit up all night and cry and cray all day. |
Date: 10/12/2006 3:39:00 AM From Authorid: 30747 Congrats on the new baby. I just love babies. |
Date: 10/12/2006 4:49:00 AM From Authorid: 35825 Congratulations Sweetie! Can't wait til we can see a pic of beautiful Lila! As far as colic, I feel you...my firstborn had colic....make sure that you keep her bundled up...keep her tummy and her feet warm. I would warm up a tablespoon of olive oil and rub it all over her tummy and back, then wrap her tummy up with a little receiving blanket and keep it snug. Also, I used the VentAire bottles, by playtex...they're really good...less air in their bottles that way, and always make sure that she burps after every feeding. If you need to, the doctor can prescribe her some drops and that will do it! Good luck to you and your little angel! If theres anything else you need, just let me know! *hugs* |
Date: 10/12/2006 6:27:00 AM From Authorid: 63209 Congratulations! I bet she's beautiful! |
Date: 10/12/2006 6:33:00 AM From Authorid: 63588 congratulations! |
Date: 10/12/2006 6:39:00 AM From Authorid: 63241 Congratulations!! I'm sorry about the colic though. When my son had colic, I used the Mylicon drops the dr said to use and made sure his bottle was very warm (careful not too hot!). Also, we thought my grandbaby had colic but found out she has an allergy to milk...she kept throwing up & had gas & constipation. |
Date: 10/12/2006 7:03:00 AM From Authorid: 53961 Congrats to all! Babies are so special! With colic, lots of patience. When my daughter was a baby her dad use to sleep with her on his chest in the recliner. It helped them both. |
