I agree with all the above. Medicare is a farce (why do you think so many come to Canada for their meds) banning abortion (golly all those backyard doctors are going to be doing a booming business) gay adoption (wow, why would I let two caring, committed people who have their heads on straight and are financially and emotionally ready to support a child, actually have a baby when I could put them in foster care to become a forgotten child instead) |

I agree. State and the governments are slowly intruding on our constitutional rights and we are just standing by and letting them. It's sad. |

i'm for gay adoption... because i look past it being two men or two women.. i see them as two loving committed parents wanting to raise a child together they should just have to go through the same things a straight couple would...i dont think it's right to ban a woman's right to choose because that is a woman's right.. and i hate to say it.. i expected bush to start making cuts here and there and medicare to take a ding.. i heard on the news a few weeks ago that at the rate medicare is going it will be bankrupt in 10 years(atleast i think they said medicare.. i'm not american so i MIGHT be mixing it up with another medi-something) |

Yeah, things are getting crazy these days. To be honest, the new abortion thing really bugs me but it's the lesser of the evils here, it seems. Most abortions aren't done because of rape. I honestly wish women would stop getting pregnant before they're ready to have a baby. I understand that stuff happens, but it really irks me when I hear about girls I know going to the clinic because they "forgot" to take their pill. Abortion wouldn't be an issue if most of th people getting them would wise up a bit. Now, onto medicare and gay adoption. I don't even pay attention to the healthcare stuff anymore. It's failed me so many times I just don't even care. As for gay adoption? People should let people be. If I got pregnant and couldn't raise the baby, I would be happy to let a gay couple adopt him or her- as long as they were going to make a loving family. People are nuts and so up in arms about the craziest things. |

It is not all Bush's fault, the senate had alot to do with this as well. The Things that are going on, Bush had no choice but to cut medicare. |

Medicare is for elderly and disabled. I am not sure whether I approve of gay adoption. Not enough evidence that I have read on environmental factors figuring into a child's growing sexual preference! Abortion, I believe, with some reservations as to the time of the abortion. Love and Light |

I can't believe those of you who have answered do not realize that medicare is for the elderly and the disabled. These are your parents and grandparents they are cutting care for. Are you going to help pay their medical bills, or just let them die? Love and Light |

Lightworker- it's rough, but I've pretty much accepted the fact that there will come a day where my brother and I are going to have to handle my dad's expenses. He's going to get too old to do his work some day, and he's still going to have bills. Unless he works things out with his wife, yeah. I'm going to help pay his medical bills. |

Beags, these are bills beyond comprehension. Just an elderly's prescription could cost $800 a month!! Thank God for the new prescription drug converage! And a hospital stay, or a nursing home?? Hundreds of dollars a day. But, medicare is NOT free! It is paid for with an insurance premium, taken out of their social security check once a month. About $75 or $80 a month! But, the fact is, people DO pay an insurance premium for Medicare; it is not free! Many people do not seem to realize that! Love and Light |

possible future delimima for a women)
Opps, I am having a baby- (too bad I didnt use birth control)or(I did get raped and can get an abortion if I go somewhere else or my doctor can do it as this is one of the loop holes for abortion and I pass.) I cant care for him/her as I only make min wage Its too bad bush cut medicare, now my baby can't get good health care or possibly none. OH WHOOPS< MEDICARE is for seniors Medicade is something the state gives* Good thing there is adoption. There is a loving couple who would pay for the babys health care I really like them. Too bad they can't adopt my baby because adoptions rules are so harsh. I for one have nothing against gays adopting a child, unlike others I do not believe just because they are gay, they they are going to force their way of life on them. If a person is having a baby they should NOT count on medicade, NOT medicare. And yes, its crap that medicare is getting cut as the elderly in our united states is having a hard enough time as it is. But the thing is, if a person has a baby it is NOT up to the state or federal government to supply that childs medical needs. I'm glad that medical *state run* is there for those that need it. But even at that there are alot of restrictions. Your in Canada magoo? Gee I need to give you a list of meds I"m on that cost me a fortune here. |

Apparently in states in america where abortion is ilegal crime rate is higher. I think that is something these poeple must consider. And as for gay adoption being banned think about it some kids are starving to death with no perents and their are gay couples who can provide for them and love them. I say let them take care of those poor kids just because their sexaulity is different it dose not mean their ability to be a perents is messed up. I think banning abortion and not allowing gay people to adopt is a deadly combanation when you think about it. |

And I'm pretty sure that by the time I qualify for Medicare that it won't even exist anymore. So my money that I am putting (excuse me, the state)into it with my paychecks will have gone to someone else, if they haven't already. So there will be nothing for me because of poor administration on the state, federal, and governmental levels. |

In the state of Florida, there is a gay couple that have been foster parents for children diagnosed with HIV for several years now. This couple has given numerous kids more love than they would ever know with their real parents. They have asked on several occasions to be allowed to adopt kids, and the state has always told them no. It takes two special people to be able to provide a loving home for a child that is living with a death sentence, and make that child feel loved. |

TS, that is so kind of them to take these kids in. Not many people want kids that are *damaged* and that in its self is so sad. I as I've said before see nothing wrong in ANYONE adopting kids that need love and a home. |

It is unfortuante that some people wont consider a child who is sick for adoption. Those are the kids that need it most. Such people are not looking to bring in a child and truly care for them. Its selfish to try and find "the healthy" one. |

Do you have enough money for a bus ticket to Wyoming, get your abortion there. Or if not maybe a job would allow you to have health coverage for your baby like most people do. As for adoption, there are other couples I'm sure. |

If only most people with a job could afford health care for their family. The fact is, they cannot, because companies do not pay near as much as they once did for health care for families, and many employees cannot afford the high rates that they would have to pay. |

I certainly do see the connection as well as so many other connections with the various issues out there in our country. Now if we can get leaders in place that see those connections also, instead of having tunnel vision each time the chance for legislation comes up for one of these issues, maybe we can get somewhere in this country. |
