Date: 3/18/2006 4:15:00 PM From Authorid: 42703 Where I live all the roads are named after Greek mythology, for example the road I live on is Themistocles Place. Most of the road names here are really long and hard to pronounce. |
Date: 3/18/2006 5:29:00 PM From Authorid: 39370 Well, where I live, since we are so close to NASA, all of our streets have "spacey" names (Luna Drive, Mercury Ave, Appolo Ave, etc). So, I've always thought that was kinda neat |
Date: 3/18/2006 5:47:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 Most of the street names round my area are named after birds.... |
Date: 3/18/2006 6:12:00 PM From Authorid: 63200 Laf, where we used to live, we lived close to Boone's Lick. Here, there are Manslick and Pope's Lick. I mean, I am *sure* these were named after places those people saw saltlicks that drew wild animals, but nowadays, they just crack me up. :> --EM of GW |
Date: 3/18/2006 6:36:00 PM From Authorid: 53909 When I lived with my parents, the street was named Butternut Drive. For some reason as a kid, we always thought it was a funny name. |

Date: 3/18/2006 9:14:00 PM From Authorid: 62310 I think people would think all the roads around my house are unusual because just about all of them are Hawaiian names. There's only one that I can think of that isn't. |

Date: 3/19/2006 2:34:00 AM From Authorid: 53052 rossiter is a odd one, we have a christmas lane, fort which people will occasionally change(with a peice of white tape) to Fart though people tend to change most often at the corner of fort and cook(they also change cook but that isnt a G word) umm if i pull out a map i could give you dozens.. the most annoying thing about streets in this town though is you have a "st" and a "lane" it's not uncommon for the street version to be in one area and the lane to be in a completely other nowhere near eachother |
