Ignore feature in the private messages?

I know I will probably get some unfavorable responses to this, and its kind of petty, but,I was reading someone else' post(dont remember who)and they were talking about getting hateful messages about their name.I know alot of us have gotten messages repeatedly that we didn't like.Could an ignore feature for private messages work?

I.E.-I tell person X to stop sending messages and they continue.Instead of buggin an admin and appearing whiney I could just hit the ignore button and not see anything they send in the future. It would just be private messages, which only the admins and the user see anyway. What do you think?

Date: 11/17/2005 8:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 53558    I agree very strongly with Vadia. They simply love it. The more they get, the more they wont, you see they are all adicted to it..
Date: 11/17/2005 9:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 35720    No one in the history of my membership at USM has ever sent me excessive messages, especially after I told them to stop.
Date: 11/17/2005 9:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 7574    I've never gotten any mean messages ever. Actually, I hardly get any messages anymore..haha
Date: 11/17/2005 10:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 46527    Just use the delete button. Stop replying and eventually they will get the hint!
Date: 11/17/2005 12:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    so that's why you don't reply to me huh LSR? LOL just kidding
Date: 11/17/2005 1:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 23963    Good suggestion...so does that mean that when this new feature is installed I can ignore you? LOL
Date: 11/17/2005 2:51:00 PM  ( Admin-PY )   The concept of USM is to make friends and if you hit the ignore button then you just slammed the door in someone's face for something that may have been petty to begin with....Follow LSR's suggestion, or message an Admin and we'll take care of it..Even if it means termination of an account for an extended period of time....
Date: 11/17/2005 3:26:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63172    Sure Hangman lol.If I post messages to ya over n over.

It was just a suggestion.I meant only if you didnt want to read what someone had to say in your own private messages box. There are people on USM that I love to hear from, there are others that I would rather not hear from. Its not slamming the door in faces if you dont like each other anyway.

Date: 11/17/2005 5:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 49689    Not when most of the people that are doing it are the ones that have been around for awhile and know that harrassment isn't allowed....
Date: 11/21/2005 12:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 63205    I agree, I think it's obvious if a message is demeaning or offensive in any way and if it's intentional and continuous I'd think that would warrant a ban...NbN
