I've Had Cataract Surgery

This past Monday, December 13 I had cataract surgery on my left eye with lens implantation. Since then I've had a terrible time reading....especially on the 'puter. IWith my left everything in the distance looks very crisp, clear and bright. Colors are very vivid. In fact, looking through my right eye now is like looking through a dirty window. I can't believe I was seeing like that and didn't realize it...but you don't becuz it comes on gradually. Now, my brain is confused by the mixed signals it's getting and things aren't going to clear up a whole lot until I get my right eye fixed on December 27. They do them at least two weeks apart in case something goes wrong with the first eye. How many of you have ever had this surgery?

How it changed my life:

I can't seeeeeeeeeee! LOL!

Date: 12/16/2004 4:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    My neighbor had cataract surgery about a year ago on her eyes. She said the exact same thing you did. She's doing very well now ....I've had one that they consider a cataract surgery but I was an infant sooooooooo.....I don't know what it was like. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
Date: 12/16/2004 4:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    I have never had one! I'm sure it will get better when the other eye is done!

Date: 12/18/2004 5:05:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10798    Thanks for the encouraging words. It's been really hard working this week because I use the computer constantly. I'll be very glad when I can get the other eye done and get my reading glasses.
Date: 12/18/2004 5:07:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10798    I had to try and get both surgeries done before the end of the year because they told us at work at the last minute (as usual) that we are losing our United Healthcare insurance. UHC pays 100 percent on cataract surgery and good ole Blue Cross which we are switching to in January, has a $1,200 deductible PLUS they only pay about 90 percent. I couldn't afford that.
