Background of Religions, and my personal choice..

Hello, I have been looking latly for the best religion. I have looked at Judism, Islam, and Christianity, followed by Spiritism. I have completly whiped Spiritism out.. I dont agree with messing with the dead, and unseen forces that arent of God.

Islam- This religion is sorta unique. It believes Jesus Christ was a prophet, one very close too God. They believe he was born of the Virgin Mary, and was not crucified. They believe that one of his followers were crucified in his place such as Judas, or anyone who followed him. They say that Allah, there God, took Jesus up to heaven before they came and got him. They also believe that when Christ returns, he will crack the crosses, and show the world that Islam is the right religion. They call Jesus Issa in the Quran.

Jesus did not die but was raised up into heaven by God. He shall return to earth just before the Day of Judgment in order to kill the "False Messiah" and to establish peace and justice on earth. He will kill the pigs, break the cross, and call all humanity to Islam. Thats according too the Quran.

Christianity- My prefered Religion. A religion of peace. God in three persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If you have faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he died for you on the cross, and rose again in 3 days, and you believe Jesus too be your Lord and Savior, and repent from all Sin, you will be saved. You shall have eternal life. Jesus was Crucified on the cross too save mankind of there sin. In other words, Mankinds broken laws against God.

Originally expected to happen during the lifetime of the first disciples, many predictions have been made later and he is still expected at any moment. He is currently anticipated to arrive around the turn of the century (2000 C.E.) Thats according too the Holy Bible.

Judism- Its the same as the Old Testament, they dont believe Jesus was the promised Messiah.

I picked Christianity over everything.. Thanks for reading.

Date: 10/18/2004 1:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 15675    how come you only researched the main monotheistic religions? Did you try beliefnet.com ? That one is EXCELLENT for like a ton of religions. Btw religion is a tool to get to spirituality: you can have your own beliefs that dont always match a religion. And whats this spiritism? I've researched tons of religions and I've never heard of it :S
Date: 10/18/2004 2:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 43807    What about budihist, or yes paganism...
Date: 10/18/2004 4:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 15675    oh man Donuts there's even more then just those two (and Paganisim includes a lot in itself!) Jainisim, Taoisim, Sikhisim, Shinto, Hinduisim, etc...
Date: 10/18/2004 4:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 27706    I'm so happy that you have seen the light. There are many false religions out there, but nothing comes close to Christianity, except Judism.
Date: 10/18/2004 4:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    I'm glad you've found a path you feel comfortable with. Good luck to you on your new found religion. :O)
Date: 10/19/2004 12:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 15675    Jesus Died that's a very narrow minded way to look at the other religions of the world...
Date: 10/19/2004 12:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 59876    perhaps this person looked into what they felt most interesting and pertinent. that makes sense doesn't it?
Date: 10/19/2004 5:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    Jesus Died, Christianity piggybacked on Judaism, its rather hypocritical to then accuse other religions of being false.
Date: 10/19/2004 10:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 15675    Doheney that'd be fine, I just think it odd to claim you researched religions and yet you never batted an eye to one thats not of the major 3...lol minus 'spiritism' which I have no clue still what is :S. As long as the person's happy I guess
Date: 10/19/2004 1:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Kaja, you tell the author to look at other things and this post is mainly to share what this person has chosen as a religion I dont this KJ came here to debate it as this is not the debate section. Your please with your religion, you should not JUDGE this person and be please that they found what they were searching for. Just because you dont believe KJ studied out enough religioins or the way they were studied you still have no right to judge this person as being narrow minded because they havent chosen to do things YOUR way.
Date: 10/19/2004 1:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Rod tod the author didnt say the others were false, read it again.
Date: 10/19/2004 1:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 36704    I didn't know this was in debate or discussion. If you don't like what the author had to say make a post of your own in another category and address it. This is one author's story of how they came to the point they have. Why some people have to jump on posts in the religious section trying to point out flaws on either side isn't exactly being tolerant of another person's beliefs and it's amusing how those same people like to turn around and claim people aren't tolerant of their beliefs, maybe it's because you yourself are close-minded when it comes to certain religions and their aspects.
Date: 10/19/2004 3:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 59876    i didn't find it odd at all. what anyone else thinks doesn't and shouldn't matter. not everyone is on an all out search, they might already have a general idea of what they believe and search accordingly. i'm glad the author found something that works for him.
Date: 10/19/2004 4:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Base yes, I noticed that too.
Date: 10/19/2004 4:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 15675    Firstborn I wasn't trying to say change it or this and that. If KJ is a happy Christian then I'm happy for him! I was just saying he made a post giving backrounds of religions he'd researched and I found it odd he hadn't looked at anything other then those very few. I'm not really debating anything here LOL I was just trying to say there is more then 3 religions out there (and yes more then 3 monotheistic ones at that but their either minor or more complex) and to not shut your eyes to everything. As long as the person is happy with their own personal faith then fine so be it
Date: 10/20/2004 9:19:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 54461    Wow, thanks for the support everyone.. Nice replys.
Date: 10/20/2004 7:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 10798    Judaism is also great and there are some things about it that I like better than church. I truly love to go to synagogue. Perhaps it's the challenge of learning Hebrew that appeals to me, I dunno.
Date: 10/20/2004 7:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    Ditto to what BASE and FB pointed out. The author's choice of religion...isn't up for debate and they didn't ask for OPINIONS. They're simply sharing their choice.
