12329.1 Reflections On The Earth By Carolyn R. Echols 04/26/04
This world you have made is a glorious place A living orb spinning serenely in space With oceans and rivers and vast desert sands Green valleys and meadows and lush forest lands Wild creatures that scamper, that swim and that soar Across your blue skies and your deep, ocean floor From steep, craggy canyons to mountain peaks, tall With your own, dear hands, you created it all.
And, yet in this world there is so much unrest So many are suffering; millions oppressed Greed and voracity rage out of hand, Depleting resources; polluting the land.. Hatred breeds bigotry, violence and war As men walk in pride and your precepts ignore How sad on the face of this fair, Earthly plane Your highest creation should cause you such pain.
