( i lived in the woods basiclly and it ate a dead bird ) But always keep in mind, your cat is no longer suffering. your strong to even be there, i know i couldnt. *hugz* |

Vab....dear...the vet will not think you were being a baby....that's part of their job...their use to it. I had to put my dear shadow down almost a year ago...I was a mess...I went in to have some blood work done cause he was sick...and I walked out of the vets with a huge bill and an empty pillow case....Cry all you want....no one will think your a baby...I'm sorry for your loss |

DreamerPoet shared this with me the day I put my shadow down....it helped...though I know you think I'm crazy time will heal your heart....everyone told me that but I didn't believe them...two weeks after I put shadow down a new kitten wormed her way into my heart...I wasn't replacing shadow in the least...but I like to think of this kitty as my 'therapy pet' LOL....anyway here's the poem: "Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together......." (~Anonymous) |

You cry because you loved your kitty. Never be ashamed of that. Don't be afraid to admit that you are grieving and reach out to those who love you. Also don't say you never want another pet because of this. You will heal and will be able to share your life with another pet. Every time you take a pet into your life from a shelter, you are saving that pet's life. I cry each time one of my cats comes to the end of their life. I get another kitten but I never forget the furbaby I lost. I picture myself when I walk into heaven being mobbed by all my furbabies. There is a website call http://petloss.com/ that may help you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I'm sure he didn't think you were being a baby. It just showed him how much you loved your kitty. It probably hurt his feelings having to do it. Just think of all the good memories you have of your kitty and they will make you smile. |
