Dreams taken in literal sense?

I was told by someone that dreams should NEVER be taken in the literal sense or as something that's going to happen in the future (comes true).

But how can't it be if there's things such as deja vu? Can't deja vu be something you might have dreamed and then it happens in real life, and you know it's happen to you before?

I believe I had dreams that actually came true. What do you all think?

I tell people that 99% of dreams are created by pickles.(spicey food) It's the remaining 1% that hold our attention. Yes, dreams can be prophetic. It is even Biblical. They sometimes need interpritation so we can understand them better. I'm curious, have you ever felt you had an out of body experience (OBE) during a dream? I'm researching the phenomenon and I am looking for input.
Date: 1/20/2004 2:39:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62511    Once, when I was aound 7 or 8 years old it was around morning time, I thought I was awake. My mother was in the kitchen recording her voice on the radio (she sings) and I was trying to get her attention doing silly stuff. Usually she'd yell and tell me to get out, but she was ignoring me. My 2 cousins came over and one was in the living room curled up sleep on the couch, and the other was downstairs in the bassment watching tv with my brother.

And then I woke up. I didn't believe what was happening, so when I got up, something told me where everyone was at and what they were doing. Everybody was in the exact same places doing the exact same things they were in my dream. One cousin was curled up in the couch in the living room, my mother recording herself singing, and my other cousin was in the bassment with my brother watching tv. Maybe it was a dream telling to future. Or maybe it was OBE. I have no idea.

I had another dream when I was in the 7th grade. I thought it was an OBE, but I could be wrong. I got the urge to fly out my body, so I did. I tried to fly downstairs to the bassment, but it was hard for me because I was trying to find out what way I could fly down a flight of stairs. I finally got down there and my dad was sitting in the chair on the computer, and I turned the computer off and I laughed. Something then told me to go back upstairs in my body because it was new to me and I had the idea that if I stayed out too long, I would die (lol). So I flew back up, saw my body laying there (hoping I could get back in) and I did. I then woke up and ran downstairs to see if my dad was really on the computer and he was! I asked him (I still even ask him to this day, I asked him yesterday about it) if his computer turned off by itself and he tells me no. Which is why it might have just been a dream and not an OBE.
