Might as well try replacing the batteries, cant hurt. Me and my brother were smoking in my uncles apartment and the smoke alarm went off and it wouldnt stop. This smoke alarm is some 15 ft in the air and we had to get a ladder to 'fan' the the smoke away. My brother went up, fell off the ladder then he looks at me "Your turn". Im like are you out of your mind I just watched you fall off. I eventualy went up and just tore the whole thing off the wall. Yea, just replace the batteries Matt aka |

Sounds like it is in need of replacing, but just in case do you have gas heat or stove in your house? And does the fire alarm detect gas leaks or something like that? Check those to while you are at it. |

If it's a detector like I have (no batteries, you wind it up) it may need to be dusted. Try that spray for electronics. Just a thought, hope it helps. |

If it's hardwired into the building, there may be a short in the electrical wiring somewhere-- it doesn't have to have smoke to detect a short and there may not be smoke. |
