Oregon(Portland) Name: The White Eagle Café Location: unknown
This former brothel, hotel, and boarding house has many mysterious legends in its history. In one instance, it is alleged that a waitress was going to the basement and felt someone push her-twice. Falling down the stairs, she got the attention of the bartender and bouncer. When the two reached the bottom of the stairs, they discovered a mop and bucket had been thrown down after then. In another, one of the former owners reported hearing someone upstairs crying. When he went upstairs to see what was going on, the crying was so strong, the hairs on his back were raised. The man ran across the street and saw a glowing figure in the window from whence the crying came. No one has been near that room in thirteen years. Presently, there are reports of flushing toilets, whispering voices, moving furniture, and loose change with mint dates over forty years old.
Oregon(Portland) Name: Witch’s Castle Location: Forest Park
Once a stone trading shack during the 1600s, this haunt is located at the crossroads of two trails leading to the coast of Oregon. At the site, it is said that there are "ghost wars." If one happens to be there during one of these rituals, it is almost impossible for him to get away.
Louisiana(Shreveport) Name: Old Elerbe Road School Location: Elerbe Road
This former school was closed due to the disappearances of several people, one being a beloved janitor. When the children went to look for him, they too disappeared--one by one. All that remains is a building in which all the lockers have been knocked out; in their place is a mural of the grim reaper. At night, one may hear the screams of children and the sound of a school bell.
Louisiana(new Orleans) Name: Witches Den or Circle Location: City Park
At this old fountain, witchcraft was practiced very regularly. Many dogs and cats were murdered during sacrifices; their howls and meows are still heard today. Also heard are the screams of cries of the murdered and of the virgins that were brutally raped.
Arizona(Kingman) Name: Slaughterhouse(Luana’s Canyon) Location: a mile or two southeast of downtown Kingman
During the gold rush days of the 1800's, a gold miner and his family lived a small wood shack along a dry wash in the heart of the canyon. Via mule, the husband would venture into the Northwestern Mountains in search of gold, returning semimonthly with food for his wife Luana and their young children. One month, however, the gold miner did not return. Soon, supplies ran out and the children began to starve. Luana, not able to tolerate the sight of her starving children, lost her mind. During a thunderstorm, she put on her wedding dress and chopped her children up into several pieces. Luana went to the river and tossed the remnants down stream. Luana returned the next morning and crying for the return of her children she died. It is said that on certain nights the her wailing may be heard from within the canyon's walls.
Texas(Anson) Name: unknown Site: unknown
Local legend says that one December night more than a hundred years ago, a mother sent her son into the woods to retrieve a Christmas tree for the family. Reportedly, the mother told her son to flash his lantern three times if he got into any trouble. When the boy did not return, his mother searched for him until she herself died. Near the woman's burial site, there is a crossroads. It is said that if one parks his car and flashes the headlights three times, a mysterious light will rise and traverse across the road. One will then hear a voice yelling, "Mommy they got me. I'm over here." The light then turns red and flies toward the voice.
Texas(Bel Plains) Name: Belle Plains Cemetery Location: Unknown
This cemetery seems to be shrouded in mystery. One legend says that young man and woman were madly in love. The girl's father, however, did not wish for the two to be together and swore that he would kill the boy if he ever saw the couple together again. Needless to say, the boy was killed. So bereaved was the girl that she went to her lover's grave and hanged herself. It is said that if one happens to go to the cemetery during the late night, a young boy who vanishes within himself may be seen. The loud shrill cry of a girl is also allegedly heard. There have also been reports of creatures comparable to Bigfoot in this cemetery. It is said that in the rear portion of the cemetery is an Indian burial ground and these beasts are its guardians. They are reported to be around eight feet tall, and the size of two athletically built men. It is also rumored that they are white with green glowing eyes. Like coyotes, but many octaves deeper, the beasts are said to be heard howling at the moon during the hours of the early morning.
Texas(Shafter) Name: Adobe House Location: unknown
Locals say that long ago a young woman and her daughter lived in the house. After marrying a soldier in Pancho Villa’s Army, the woman and her daughter were frequently abused. On particular night, the inebriated man began to beat the woman to death. As she was knocking at death’s door, her daughter came into the room. The soldier, then grabbed the child and threw her into a wall, breaking her back. Enraged, the young woman gathered enough strength to shoot the man in his face. As he fell, an oil lamp collapsed, setting the woman ablaze. Engulfed in flames, the woman went into the next room and held her daughter until they both died. It is said that if one goes to the house on cloudy nights, lays face down, and says "Mama" three times, the smell of burning flesh will arrive. Burned footprints will also appear in the floor.
Texas(Colony) Name: House Location: Crider Road
This three story mansion, which burned down at the beginning of 1999, was without ownership for ninety-nine years. Allegedly, a serial killer murdered over 10,000 men and women in this home. Many reported hearing screams and seeing flashing lights and ghosts when driving down Crider Road. The house was so scary that it was never searched; it never will be.
