An ostrich managed to evade police for ten hours after it escaped from a circus in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.
Residents were shocked to see the bird tearing down the city's streets and called police, local daily, Standart, says.
Officers, who identified the bird as one which had escaped from the local Arena Circus, say they had trouble tracking down the ostrich, which can reach speeds of up to 40mph.
