A tornado in Arizona, right where I live!

Hey everyone in USM land, how's it going? Well guess what, I live in Winslow Arizona and today at around 11:30am - 12:45pm there was a tornado about 4 miles from my house! It is like one of the first tornados to ever hit Winslow, it was really cool. We got a couple of pictures of it, and a news crew came down, they interviewed a few people, including my grandmother! Hehe, she was cute. I could of been interviewed too, but I was too shy, so I hid in the house. LOL, I know, I'm a whimp. But anyway, just thought I'd share, it is pretty much a once in a life time thing since tornados never hit Arizona, especially in Winslow, it's just pretty exciting. Oh, and no one was hurt, and nothing was damaged, so all is good. Anyway, thanks for reading!

Love,

Naughty N Nice aka Christina

Date: 6/17/2003 5:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 28989    Wow! I live in New Mexico. Maybe it's headed this way!!! We don't have basements to hide in. How do we protect ourselves?
Date: 6/17/2003 5:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 10110    LOL, well the tornado isn't active anymore, it went down to the ground. But if you don't have basments and there's a tornado, you can hide in a bath tub or a closet and cover yourself with a blanket. If you are outside, find a ditch and cover your head with your hands. Got it?
Date: 6/17/2003 5:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    Hey my name is Christina too!!! :P lol! Anyways...I've always wanted to see a torando, even though if and when i do, it will probably scare the poo outta me. I almost expect to see one here in NC the way the crazy weather has been.

Anyway, I wasn't really that scared of the tornado, I really like being in the excitment, my mother told me I should be a storm chaser, and I thought 'Hmmmm, that would be cool.' But yeah, it was great. Thanks for replying.

Date: 6/17/2003 9:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 62141    I once saw a oak tree that saw six feet in diameter splinter in a tornado. One should have respect for that kind of power.
Date: 6/17/2003 11:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 19901    I just read about that on a weather site.
